************************************************************************************************************

The next day is like any other day...pain. I guess it isn't as bad though. David comes in about eight in the morning. I got no sleep last night, just as planned. David stumbles in still groggy from lack of sleep. His alarm clock probably forced him up.

"Looks like you didn't sleep at all" He says with a frown.

I give him a faint smile that disappears quickly.

He looks out the window and through clenched teeth says, "You shouldn't have to stay awake to keep them away. It's not fair." He was referring to my bad dreams.

I look out the window too while making a quick nod. The sky has a hint of light blue, giving the morning light away.

"Would you like to talk about it now?"

Again, I shake my head no. Right now I feel like I'll never be ready, ever. He goes and grabs a notepad anyways and lays it beside me, "Well if you don't wanna talk about it then maybe it'd be easier to write it down."

"In the mean time I might as well get your cast changed." He says with a sigh of defeat...for now.

He goes to the fridge and pulls out the bluish tint of crystals and sets them on the counter beside it. He comes back around to my cast and gingerly twists his fingers to reach both buttons. And a shock of pain goes quickly through my leg. I make a little grunt of pain while it subsides. He takes each red steaming crystal out quickly replacing them with the blue ones. He turns around to put the used crystals in the fridge. I was all of a sudden sleepy...I can't resist the darkness of exhaustion sweep over me. I feel David's eyes on me. He starts for the door. I turn back around, slightly on my side keeping my eyes wide open. I'm not going to let those dreams take me like that. Who knows what I would do next? He looks back at me.

He smirks a little, "You can't hide that exhaustion from me. Mind if I stay?"

My lips twitch into a slight smile. Before I knew it he turns back around flipping the footrest out on the chair next to my bed. He leans back and closes his eyes.

With his eyes still closed, "Go to sleep. I'll be right here."

And I do just that. I turn my head so I can watch him. He has the slightest hint of tiredness under his eyes. Probably doesn't get enough sleep with me around, I silently scold myself then slowly close my eyes and hope for good safe dreams.

I feel fingertips brush my healing arm. I let out a long breath and turn my head to see who it is. I look into the warm, brown, hazel eyes belonging to David.

"Morning..." I say, focusing on the vibration in my throat. It sure feels weird to be the first to say something.

He turns around and looks me in the eyes, "Good morning Ally." He says in a warm voice.

David POV

Her voice is still a little scratchy but that's probably because of all of the days without uttering a word. But I also can't quite hear her most of the time. She's always mumbling like she doesn't want to be heard or something. I'll give her some time to get used to talking. The phone rings I pick it up.
