I've forged empires of anatomy
Whole dynasties from rib cages
Eras from the pause between each of your breaths
I construct beauty from madness
Softness from bones stronger than steel
I've created insanity from normalcy
Hardness from tissue and skin bouncier than a trampoline
Constructed will power from indecision
Sculpted ankles of the finest marble
Polished eyes of the finest tanzanite until my fingers have bled just to give you sight
I'm an artist of anatomy
People come to me with imperfections and leave feeling satisfied
I've used tones from the best rubies to shine the cheeks of the girl you love
And I've taken it all away to find the beauty left in an ugly face
The seven wonders of the world have nothing on my sculpture
You say, My God, I'm not religious, but your beauty is ethereal
And people feel small in your presence
They call me a modern day Aphrodite, a goddess fit to love
The space between your chest formed by a single run of my finger
The upturn of your lips my the moldings of my thumbs
I've found power in presence
Physiology is my own theology
Hands created to hold importance when my arms tire
Toes dipped in the finest waters
Calves made to support a heart stronger than steal
I have given you a body made to love
Do with it what you will
You can break it
But it is made to repair
The only thing damaged is your soul
For which I cannot be blamed
The blood in your heart and the skin round yourself
Meant to encase an ever-changing, everf-ixing, always strong individual
You.
