-Moe-

Tobin and Alex were hanging out in my room. We were playing Go Fish.

"So...Moe, what's up with you and Vanessa?" Tobin asked me, smirking.

Shit.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to not make eye contact with her.

"Don't even try to deny it!" Tobin laughed.

"I'm not!"

"Dude, it's okay! No one can really blame you for liking her." Tobs said. Alex looks up at Tobin, then back to her cards. I couldn't help but smile at how angry she looked.

"Okay, so maybe I do, but I don't even know her." I said.

"Well then get to know her, she'll love you Moe. She seems like she's pretty closed off, and we all know she's probably going to be on the national team soon, so get her to open up to you." Alex suggested."Ash said that UCLA practices every day from 1 to 3."

I thought about it, maybe I could just casually show up and just happen to see Vanessa there.

"What time is it?" I asked Alex.

"2:58"

"See you guys later" I said, grabbing my car keys.

"Good luck!" they chimed, in unison.

"Bye!"

-Alex-

I love love.

"Tobs, do you think Moe could end up with Vanessa?" I asked.

"Maybe," she said, "or they could end up just as friends. It happens sometimes." Tobin said.

Yeah, a lot times.

"We're going to follow Moe, aren't we?" she asked me.

"Well, duh. I want to see if everything goes smoothly." I told her as I grabbed my keys.

***

-Vanessa-

Practice sucked. My "friends" wouldn't even talk to me. I tried to get them to tell me where my car was, but no one budged. At least I didn't suck during practice. I might have been a little bit hungover, but I wasn't throwing up after we did suicides.

After I changed, I decided to go and get something to eat from Ursela's Diner. Ursela loved me, she always gave me extra fries. I walked, since apparently my car is no where to be found.

***

-Moe-

"Oh hey! I didn't know you'd be here! Can I sit?" I talked to myself in my car.

No, Morgan. Act natural. Don't be creepy.

I unbuckled my seatbelt and stepped out of my car.

Natural. Act. Natural.

I walked into the diner, and looked over to the right. Vanessa was drinking water and had her practice clothes on.

"Vanessa?" I called out. She looked up, smiled, and waved me over to her.

"Hey! What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Um...I was just driving around...and noticed this place...and figured it looked like a place with good food." I said.

Nice Morgan. Nice.

"Oh...and you just happened to show the exact same time I do." she giggled.

Oh no. Did she know

I sat down in the booth, across from her.

***

-Vanessa-

I totally knew she was lying. She wasn't that good of a liar, but she was cute when she lied.

"Yeah...weird." she looked at her at the table.

"Let's play a game." I said.

"What game?"

"20 questions"

She laughed. Her laugh was pretty, and contagious. I laughed too.

"Okay!" she squealed.

"You go first!" I said.

"Alright, do you have a boyfriend?" she asked. I blushed, and I don't know why I did.

Very subtle Moe, very subtle.

"Yeah, his name is Leo."

Her smile turned into a slight frown.  "Tell me about him." she said, trying to sound happy for me.

"Alright, he is 21, he has blonde curly hair and beach blue eyes, he's 6'3", and he's the sweetest guy I've ever met." I smiled when I thought about him. He's been my best friend since we were kids. I loved him.

-Moe-

I couldn't help but not smile. I just found out that the girl I have a crush on is in love with someone else.

Way to go, Moe. Falling for the ones you can't have.

-Vanessa-

We played for a while, and I ordered a hamburger. Moe got a cheeseburger and fries. It was my turn, and I had a question particularly for her.

"Okay. Who changed me last night when I was passed out?" I asked her.

She swallowed hard and blushed.

Gotcha.
