-Vanessa's POV-
The team was done warming up and now it was time to head down into our separate line.
Once we reached the line, we were paired with young girls. The girl I was paired had brown hair and blue eyes, a beautiful combination.
"Hi!" I said the young girl.
"Hi!" the young girl replied.
"What's your name?"
"Maddie, and you're Vanessa Krome!" Maddie exclaimed.
"That's right, do you play?"
"Duh." Massive giggled.
I laughed, "Sassy, aren't you."
"A bit."
Getting to know Maddie more, I discovered that she plays on a team called the Cubs.
We began our walkout and sang the national anthem. After we took pictures our captain took the toss. Seattle got the ball first.
The whistle blew and we began to play. Reign kept possession until Morgan stole the ball from Rapinoe and started towards us.
She passed the ball and I was immediately surrounded by defenders. I quickly dribbled passed them and sent a cross to Daly.
She jumped into the air and sent the ball flying to the net. Solo tried to grab it but the ball flew passed her hands in the upper 90.
Rachel ran over to me and hugged me. The team congratulated the both of us and we got back into formation.
Nothing really happened until it was halftime. We took a break that was much needed. Reign was playing high pressure.
After halftime was over we jogged back onto the pitch to start the next half. We kept possession for a while when Fishlock got a hold of the ball.
She sent it to Frederick who made a cross to Melis. Our defenders were trying to hold their line but somehow she got around them. She kicked the ball and our goalie was too late to respond.
The game ended with a tie between the two teams. I was kind of disappointed, but relieved that we hadn't lost.
