-Vanessa-
I'm actually pretty happy to leave college and go play for a club, especially one as good as Houston Dash. I'm also happy to be spending more time with Morgan.
Just kidding. Not.
Anyway, I was getting ready to pack when I heard a knock at my door.
"Vanessa. It's Kat. Please open up!" I heard a voice call from the other side of my door.
"I have nothing to say to you. I'm leaving and that's final." I called back.
"Look I know I haven't been a friend to you for a while, but I don't want to lose you. I've known you since we were both 18 and seniors in high school. You always wore your favorite USWNT hoodie and your hair was always in a messy bun. I'm sorry, please don't go to Houston." I heard her cry out.
I walked over to the door and opened it. Kat jumped into my arms the minute she saw me. I wrapped my arms around her.
"Look I'm going to miss you, but I gotta go. It's my dream to play for a professional club. After everything with my parents, I vowed to do what I love, and I love soccer." I whispered into her ear.
"I know." She stayed in my arms, crying softly for awhile. She eventually stopped crying and let me go and we talked some more. I told her it was time to pack and tears started to fall down her face again. It was nice to see how much she cared about me, but it also hurt to see her in pain.
"Well then I guess it's my cue to leave." she said as she wiped tears running down her face.
"Hey don't be like that. You can help me pack if you want." I suggested.
"No it's fine. It'll just be harder if I stay here any longer. I'm going to go back to my room." she said quietly. She walked out of my dorm and shut the door.
I care about her, I really do, but I have to put myself and my career first.
I shook my head and started to pack. Soon everything was out of my drawers and in my suitcase.
I took the stairs instead of the elevator this time. Everyone seemed to know about my leaving, since people stared at me as I walked in the halls.
I had already contacted my academic dean and my professors. The only thing left to do was return my dorm key.
"I'm going to miss you kid." Mary, the hall monitor said. She was older than me, but a great girl.
"I'm going to miss you too." I smiled at her and returned my key.
I was soon buckled in my seat and on my way to the airport. I arrived at the airport and went through security and all of that. Finally I boarded my plane on was on my way to Houston.
-Moe-
Coach told us that we were getting a new player, and it wasn't a big deal at first. Then I learned that the new forward was Vanessa Krome, and I basically lost my shit.
She's going to be in Houston. Houston! We're going to see each other a lot and we'll live closer. Wow, is this a dream?
I love my life.I was caught up in my own thoughts when I heard Carli say something.
"Well looks like Moe is finally going to get with somebody now!" she said, laughing.
Everyone started laughing.
"It took long enough!" Kealia added.
I blushed. They weren't lying. More people started saying things and it got weird for me.
Maybe I could have something with her, I don't know.
"So when's the next game coach?" I said, trying to ignore my teammates.
"April 16" Randy replied.
"Wondering how much time you'll get with your girl Brian?" Mel asked.
Everybody started laughing again. I couldn't help but laugh too.
Well that's hilarious. Just shrug it off and deal with it later, Morgan.
