Chapter 8: Keep Moving Forward, Natsu

Before we start I have to let you know that I do NOT own Fairy Tail *sigh* it belongs to Hiro Mashima. The story however is mine. Just make sure you know that m'kay?

Chapter 8: Keep Moving Forward, Natsu (Natsu's POV)

Lucy passes out on screen and I stand frozen in place, but shaking in rage. "Lucy..." I say quietly, reaching out for the girl. My hand touches the screen and it disappears. A series of marching footsteps and clanking armor. My head snaps in the direction of an army. Filled with rage, I attack head on, literally. "Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!" I shout and huge amounts of fire bursts out. As I step, the ground beneath me melts and turns to molten rock. The army of men in armor's armor starts to melt and burn their skin. They all scream in agony.

The army is huge. It reaches from one end of the island to the other. Only one section of the army has been cleared. I start running toward the castle. Wendy, Erza, Grey, Mira, and Gajeel follow. "The plan has been working brilliantly because of Levy and Mavis's calculations." Erza comments. We reach the castle doors and push them open. The castle is empty from items and life.

I cautiously take a step forward before jumping and dodging the trap. The lacrima necklace brushes against my skin, peeking out from it's hiding spot. I quickly tuck it back in and continue to walk down the long front room. A set of stairs lies at the at the end of the room. As we climb up, we are hit with traps like poison arrows and spikes. "This isn't so hard." I say as we reach the top of the stairs. A tile floor with statues on some of the tiles. "Chess." I hear Wendy mumble. "I see you've made it to the first of the 5 Kodomo. I am Ilta of The Chessboard." A voice says. I hop onto one of the statues and see a woman in black and white checkered clothing. "Natsu, I got this." Wendy says and I look at her worriedly." "Are you sure?" I ask and she nods and taps her ear where a lacrima earing is put. I nod and quickly rush up the next flight of stairs. "Don't worry, Natsu." Mavis says using the lacrima to keep in contact with us. "I'll make sure she doesn't lose." Mavis gave us the lacrimas to keep in contact, so we will have her knowledge on our side.

The next floor has a hedge maze, but the stairs are right next to it. Gajeel walks up the entrance of the maze. "What is in there?" I ask. "I don't know, I would have to go inside the maze to see." he grumbles. "Then go." I say and push him in the maze. A set of runes blocks Gajeel from us.

When someone enters the maze, they cannot come out until Soran of The Mazes has been defeated.

Gajeel groans and glares at me. "I'll get you back, Salamander." He says angrily and wanders into the maze. I laugh nervously and dash up the stairs to the next floor.

The next floor is an arena with a crowd of demons. A women in armor stands in the center. "Go ahead Erza." I say and she looks at me with a satisfying smile. "I have been waiting for a good fight." she says and steps into the arena. Runes surround the arena and Erza smirks. "Go on ahead, Natsu. Like everyone else, I am going to win the fight."

I grin and run up the stairs with Grey and Mira behind me.I stepped out onto the sandy shore of a beach. I turn around and see the grey stairway. The breeze feels real and the cawing of the seabirds sounds real. I reach to what looks like a blue sky, but is a wall. "Like the others, I got this. I'll look around for an opponent and you go save Lucy. Keep moving forward, Natsu." Grey says and I nod  and climb up the stairs with Mira. Just keep moving forward. 

The final floor of the 5 Kodomo is completely made out of mirrors and even I can't tell where Mira is, even though she was next to me moments ago. "Wow! This looks like fun!" Mira squeals all around me because of the mirrors and I raise my eyebrows. A man dressed in silver sits in the corner. "Then by all means defeat the creepy person in the corner." I say and continue up the flight of steps to get Lucy. Like Grey said: Keep moving forward
