Chapter 18: The Journey Back and a Flash From the Past

Before we start I have to let you know that I do NOT own Fairy Tail *sigh* it belongs to Hiro Mashima. The story however is mine. Just make sure you know that m'kay?

Chapter 18: The Journey Back and a Flash From the Past (Natsu's POV)

Lucy watches Vayen disappear and I stand off to the sidelines, breathing hard. The roar took everything out of me, even my dragon force is gone! Lucy's dragon force starts fading away. Out of everyone, Lucy's roar was the loudest and biggest and that's what brought him down. I can't even imagine what she might be going through right now. Lucy shakes a bit and starts to tip over. I stumble and trip over my feet to reach her in time. I catch her and she is completely passed out!

The castle is nearly completely destroyed and cold wind blows since we're at the very top. I hold Lucy tighter to shield the wind. The other dragons are not affected by it. "We should get you kids down." Igneel grumbles and picks up (again) the passed out Layla. Grandeeney kneels down so we can climb up. Her feathers are so soft, they feel like a cloud. I set Lucy down on the soft feathers. I realize that the only reason Lucy is passed out and not the others was because she was never fully recovered when she went to fight. Her body was still weak from being torchured. She was fighting with all her might so she could recover sooner.

I sigh and look to the others. Wendy is snuggled into Grandeeney's warm feathers, Gajeel is laying down, chatting with Metalicana as he flies by, Laxus is sleeping, and Sting and Rogue are chatting about how the whole success was their doing. Lucy groans a bit and everyone's head snaps in the direction of Lucy. Her eyebrows furrow together and she starts to shiver from the cold wind. I start to hold her to keep her warm and everyone just stares. I stare back at them. "I don't understand why you're lookin' at me so weirdly." I say. "You're being too lovey-dovey." Gajeel grumbles. "Well, if that wasn't the last 2 years with Levy, then make fun of me all you want." I state and he opens his mouth to protest, but when he sees Wendy's nodding head, he shuts it.

"And Sting, don't even start. I see you all the time on missions with baa-"

"Her name is Bea."

"Whatever."

A minute later, Grandeeney landed. Cheers erupt as they see everyone back in one piece (AN:lol)

I pick Lucy up and jump off. "Lucy!" Everyone shouts and starts running toward us. "Lucy!" One particular voice shouts out and Cel lands on Lucy's knee. "Is she alright?" Cel asks. I nod "She's just sleeping." I respond. "We have to leave shortly, Layla's condition is critical." Grandeeney says, inspecting Layla. Lucy groans a bit a her eyes open. Her eyes look around and land on the dragons, surrounding Layla. "...mom." she whispers out. Her eyes grow wide. "Mom!" She shouts and squirms out of my grasp.

She starts rushing toward Layla, stumbling with each step. Lucy lands on her knees in front of Layla. "Please be alright!" She sobs. Grandeeney inspects a little more. "She'll be fine if we get her to the dragon realm right now." she says. Igneel picks up the dragon once more and opens the portal. They dragons disappear through the portal once more, leaving a crying Lucy and the rest of the guild.

No one dares to go and disturb Lucy. "We need to get going." Levy says and the rest nod in agreement. "You guys can start heading out, I'll take care of Lucy." I say and the guild starts packing up and leaving. I approach Lucy, who is still crying in her hands, but only stand a few feet behind her. "Go away." she says, sniffling. I take a step closer. "I said go away!" She shouts and turns around and tries to attack. I hold her fist in place, not struggling in any way. "Layla will be fine, you just gotta wait for her." I say and her angry face turns to sadness and regret. "I'm sorry, Natsu. I can't lose them both." Lucy says "I basically killed my dad and my mom is hurt to the point where she can't even walk."

I tug on her arm, pulling her to me. I hug her and she sobs into my chest. "We need to start getting back to the guild."I say to her after a few minutes. Lucy nods and we start to walk in the direction of the guild. As we walk, Lucy starts to stumble a bit. The wind blows her outfit, revealing a large gash on her leg. I don't even think, I pick her up and start running to catch up with the guild. A scream of pain rings out in the forest, and it is not Lucy. "That's Levy!" Lucy remarks. We come upon a crowd of people. "Shoot! Shoot! What do I do?" Gajeel yells. "Get Wendy!" Levy screams. "Whats going on?" Lucy and I shout in unison. "Levy is in labor!" "What?" I shout over the chaos. Lucy hugs me really tight "My god-child!" she squeals, now sitting on my shoulders. "Why do you need me?" Wendy squeaks out. "I don't know how to deliver a baby!" "We need someone to do it! Get Grandeeney!" Levy shouts. "Open Portal: Dragon Realm!" I shout and Metalicana peaks his head out. "We just saves you guys, what do you want?" I see Lucy's fist light up. "Your daughter-in-law is in labor! Get Grandeeney now!" Lucy shouts pointing a finger at Gajeel who is rocking back and forth under a tree.

Metalicana's eyes widen and he rushes away only to return with Grandeeney. As she rushes to Levy, she spots Lucy. "Lucy, your mom is fine." she says plainly and continues to Levy. A couple of hours later, her baby was born. I wrinkle my nose. "It's so squishy and pink." I comment staring at it. Wendy is taking care of Lucy, who has many wounds, while the rest of the guild was around the baby. "What gender is it?" Lucy shouts from the sidelines. "It's a dude." I shout back. "Did you just refer a baby to a dude?" Lucy says again. "Well it is!" I see Lucy roll her eyes.

"Let's get back to the guild." I say, turning away. "Levy just had a baby, it's not safe." Grandeeney says. "We should get a hotel." Mira says. "All of us? In a hotel!" I shout "That would be chaos!" Lucy finishes for me. "You guys can go back, but we all need rest." Wendy says. "We shouldn't waste jewels on a hotel, why don't we camp out?" Lucy suggests. "Yeah I can deal with that." Mira says. "Lucy, do you coincidently have any magic spells that can make shelter?" Wendy asks.

"Ha Ha. Very funny, but no I don't." Lucy says lamely. "Didn't Lisanna make a hay shelter when you were kids?" "Yeah I did, I can make some for shelter right now." Lisanna says, popping up from her seat. She rushes to work and in no time flat, the shelters are done. Mira starts handing out blankets and I make a fire pit and light it. Everyone relaxes at the warmth of the fire. "Thanks Virgo." I over hear Lucy say. I turn around towards the noise and see Lucy and Virgo talking. Lucy is holding a set of clothes and her keys. A flash of gold happens and Virgo disappears. A glow surrounds Lucy and she changes her outfit. I run over to Lucy after seeing what she is wearing.

"Hey-" I am cut off. "Don't worry, I got new clothes for you too." she smiles. I slip on the open vest and white pants and secure the black cloth around my waist. Lucy calls out Cancer and cuts her hair short. "Why'd you do that?" I ask. "Cancer can make it long again." she replies. After tying her hair in a blue ribbon, we resume our place by the fire. Everyone is baffled at our appearances. "Virgo didn't have any other clothes for Natsu and I." Lucy says in a monotone voice. "But that was years ago!" Grey says. "So?" I comment. After that, there is silence and stares from the previous events and a flash from the past.

That was the longest title ever! ( I nearly wrote titan instead of title, we would have been screwed if it was a titan) Anyway! Hoe you enjoyed this extra long chapter!
