My brother is Luca Alesandro Castillo.

Seven years older than me -currently twenty eight years-

And 100% gay.

-~-

That was why my parents sent him away to a boarding school when he was sixteen -when I was nine- My parents were homophobic, and were one of those traditional religious people. God didn't send Adam & Eve for no reason, he wanted men and women together, if not then maybe he would've sent Adam and John kinds stuff.

Luca came home one day, and told my parents he was attracted to boys, he had tried, but failed to be attracted to girls. My parents were first flabbergasted, and then appalled. They sent him away immediately.

I haven't heard of seen him since.

At that age, I never knew really what was happening. All I remembered, from eavesdropping on their conversation, was my father screaming, how he could ever like a boy.

As I got older, I understood what that meant. And it actually made me hate my parents a little. They were terrible people for sending my brother away, for something like that, something that was practically nothing.

You don't choose who you fall in love with.

When I understood, I started ignoring then. Until they said, they would give me his phone number, since they always had it, to check up on him. We are not that mean, my mother had said. She lied, but I decided to just give up.

They weren't going to let me see my brother. He was too much of a disgrace to the Castillo name. Fuck them.

I started to explain the story to Diego, who refused to leave me alone about it.

"And I haven't seen him since," I finish, quite sadly.

"Don't worry, you two will see each other, I will make sure of it. And I'd very much like to see your parents object to that," Diego chuckles at the thought, and I can't help but giggle.

"C'mon, luckily, nobody else heard the commotion, one person did, but I said it was the TV, that's how I found you," Diego reassures me.

We walk out, and see that some people were starting to leave. Camila and Marco, were giving people their gifts, in our place. We run over, and take their spot.

Eventually, everybody was gone. Camila and Marco were the last to leave, and at around three o'clock, they insisted on helping to clean up a little.

"Wanna watch something on TV?" Diego asks, gesturing to the TV, and his Apple Mac.

"Netflix?" I yawn and he nods.
