3rd Person POV
Most people in the world have nicknames, or at least names that make your original name shorter, like William goes to Will and Jonathan goes to John. But for Marco, you would think his nickname would be Mark or something, from what I had just described to you. But instead, he had a nickname given by a friend. Let us go see what it is, shall we. We will start later in the day. Now I will leave you here while I go take a nap.
Star's POV
After ripping Marco out of bed to show him my cool new spell, he had gone back to sleep. I sat outside for a little bit and tried to learn some of the spells from the spell book and try 'em out (at least the ones that wouldn't blow up the house or the world or whatever).
After doing one of the spells marked "Do Not Use", which was practically asking me to use it, I found out it results in an explosion that could be seen from Mewni itself. Marco immediately popped out from his window. "What the heck was that Star?" He asked. "Just trying out some new spells, don't worry."
"Well keep it down at least, and try not to do anything dangerous." There he goes into his "Safe Kid" mode. It's kinda cute that he cares about me at least. After that, I thought it would be a great idea to try a water spell, due to the immense heat of that summer day, which inevitably, flooded Marco's room along with our entire backyard. "That's it, I'm coming down!" I knew I wouldn't hear the end of it.
When he came down, he looks at me while standing in the inch high flood, slowly sinking into the soil. "Star, you gotta calm down on those spells. Not only could it possibly destroy our neighborhood but it could get you and I killed." I knew he was just concerned and all, but how else was I supposed to grow in my magical abilities?
"I'm just trying some new spells, Safe Kid. I'm not gonna die."
"Stop calling me Safe Kid! I've already explained-"
"Yea yea, understood bad boy, I get it. I'll calm down on the spells for now, Wild Man." He rolls his eyes and walked away. Wild Man is my nickname for him as well. He hates being called Safe Kid but doesn't really get mad when I call him Wild Man. I gave him the nickname on my first day on earth.Marco's POV
After going back inside, I started making breakfast because I probably won't be getting any sleep with Star still awake. It's a curse I'll live with for a long time. I started making pancakes and thought about the whole Safe Kid thing.
Why am I the safe kid? I thought. I know that I wore a helmet ONCE in the gym locker room because the floor was slippery. What would happen if I tripped and broke my skull? My helmet would save me that's what. They never put up any wet floor signs either. I just have to remember to not wear a helmet again or else I'll be named "ULTRA Safe Kid" or something more lame. After making pancakes, I see Star walking in with a smile. "Yay! Pancakes!" she yelled. "Give me 4!" "Alright, careful, they're hot."
"Don't worry, Safe Kid, I'll be fine." I halt in giving her the pancakes after hearing those cursed words. "Star, we literally just went over this 10 minutes ago!"
"Alright, alright, I'll stop... Safe Kid." Star then bursts out laughing. I start getting irritated. "Well you're an...uh... Irresponsible Girl! Ha!" Really? That's the best I could do? I guess so because there was dead silence for five seconds until I got a kick in the shin.
"Hey! What was that for?"
"Don't call me that!" she yells. "Well then stop calling me Safe Kid!"
"Safe Kid is funny! Irresponsible Girl is too long, too lame, and too hurtful."
"Well how do you think I feel about being called Safe Kid? Especially having it stick to you till who knows when."
"Well it fits, I mean being too safe prevents you being any fun at all."
"Alright, fine. You go ahead and make your own burnt pancakes on that stove, while I go upstairs with my delicious ones and eat them myself." Star then realized her fatal mistake. No pancakes. "No, wait, Marco!" But it was too late. I was upstairs, ignoring her, then coming back down after forgetting my utensils.Star's POV
I sat there, a little mad, a little sad, and really hungry. I guess I understand how Safe Kid can get to him. I wouldn't want to be called "Irresponsible Girl" for a long time. Actually, I have, but I wasn't really teased about it. I guess I'll go apologize, I hoped that he wasn't too mad at me. When I went upstairs, I knocked on his door three times. Dead silence, except the sounds of chewing. I open the door a little bit and I see Marco laying on his bed, with the plate of pancakes on his desk, and one pancake left on his plate.
"Hey Marco, you ok?" I say. "Besides my stomach ache, I'm perfectly fine." he responded, a little sarcastically. I walk in, closing the door behind me, sitting on the side of his bed.
"Sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to get you all mad like that, or at me." Marco then sat up slowly and moved next to me on the side of the bed. "I'm not mad at you, I just got a little annoyed and overreacted." That kind of took the heat off a little.
"Are you still annoyed with me?" I asked, looking at him. He looked at me as well. "Well, I guess you didn't really know how much I have gotten annoyed about that, so I understand just trying to have a little fun."
"Yea, this summer is supposed to be fun, why not have fun with my bestest bestie in the whole universe, y'know?" We chuckled a little, and sat in silence for a bit. I was kind of feeling a little warm inside. Him next to me, us talking with each other, it made me really smile.
"Starship." Marco said. "Starship?" I asked. "Yea, Starship, that's your nickname. I know, it's cheesy-"
"No, not at all. I kinda like it." We looked at each other again, smiling at the amusing nickname I now have, sitting on the side of Marco's bed. From there, we were kind of on auto pilot, as we both leaned in closer to each other, eventually connecting, as I could feel the hearts glowing on my cheeks. Once we pulled away from the kiss, we started blushing and I hugged him. "Do you still want pancakes?" Marco asked
"Yea, I would."Aye guys! Great ending, huh? Thanks for reading and make sure to share with friends and family, and I'll see you later, my fan fic reader!
