Diaz Residence...
Marco and Star had just stepped through the shadow portal into Marco's home. He gently carried Star to her room and set her down. He was about to leave but felt something grab his sleeve. He looked over and saw Star was opening her eyes.
"M-Marco? What happened at the game? Why was I asleep again?" Star asked. She sat up and winced at a sudden sharp pain in her stomach. Marco quickly pushed her back down.
"I'll explain later Star, but right now you need to rest." Marco told her.
"Rest? But I feel fine-ow!" Star exclaimed, making Marco roll his eyes.
"Yeah. 'Fine'. Go to sleep Star." Marco ordered her. When he was that she wasn't listening, he sighed and resorted to the only other option he had. He lowered his head down to her level. His red eyes stared into her blue ones intensly, making her blush like mad.
"Sleep..." and with that word, his eyes gained a red light to them and flashed. Star looked at him for a second before rocking back and forth before finally passing out. Marco sighed in relief and walked into his room. However as soon as he reached his room, his head began to throb. He fell to one knee and held it.
"Argh! W-what's going on? Why is my head hurting so much?" Marco asked.
Oh Marco, Marco, Marco. It seems you're not ready to grasp the full power of darkness. And here I began to think that after tonight, you might be ready.
"What do you mean? Ready for what?" Marco asked.
Ready for the next step. But oh well. You might as well just go to sleep. We'll talk when you can actually handle the darkness.
Marco's head was beginning to hurt so much to where he might pass out. Then, he heard something snap and finally, darkness filled his vision.
The next day...
It was especially noisy at school today. Mainly because of what happened the night before. Star was holding on to Marco's arm because of all the stares people were giving her. But whenever they did, Marco glared at them and they immediately backed off. That is, until they reached the classroom. And guess who was waiting for them.
"Brittany..." Marco and Star said at the same time. Star hid behind Marco and shivered. She was never afraid of people like Brittany but seeing the seething rage in her eyes made her cower in fear.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the freaks." Brittany called the two.
"And if it isn't the failure." Marco retorted, gaining some 'oohs' from the students nearby.
"Well, was I right?" Brittany asked.
"Right? About what?" Marco asked.
"About the bimbo being the reason why everything gets ruined! Last night proved it!" Brittany yelled as pointed an accusing finger at Star.
"Hey, that's not her fault! She couldn't predict that Ludo would attack last night! No one could!" Marco defended her.
"Ugh, why are you always trying to defend her? Every time there's some sort of trouble, she's always there! She's a menace and needs to be shipped away back to where she came from." Brittany said.
