Nate's POV

I've never been so scared in my life. Jaylyn just got out of her house and saved her mother's life. It made no sense on why she would do that since the woman has been a druggie for most of Jaylyn's teenage years.

Me and the guys were back at my house with Jaylyn up in my room and her mother in the hospital. Jaylyn is a very big target to the other gang. We needed to make sure she was safe from all harm. Someone could go into her room and kill her or damage her, so I just had a friend come and fix her up, and it's working really well. He set her up with an IV, a ventilator, and a heart monitor. She has everything she needs to be okay.

"Why did she go into the house?" I ask Johnson as us two were in the kitchen and the boys were sitting in the living room quietly taking trying to make everyone calm. All of us were worried for Jaylyn. She was looking really bad when we found her.

Her skin was hot to the touch, she couldn't move and her breathing was uneven. She inhaled so much smoke that her lungs were giving out. She should be okay though. We just have to make sure she stays with a steady heartbeat.

"She wanted to save her mom." Johnson tells me as he takes a sip of his hot chocolate he made for himself.

"Why would she save her mother? She means absolutely nothing to her. Her mom was nothing but a reason for Jaylyn to hate her life." I say and make my hands into a fist. Jaylyn has always been a big part of my life whether anybody knows it or not. I always knew her because of her brother, and after he died I forgot who she was completely. Then I made friends with these guys and they were the worst towards her. They didn't know who she was, and I didn't remember. I forgot what she looked like after two years of excluding her from my life. I guess that made things worse for her than they did for me.

"I think that's Jaylyn's call to tell you." Johnson says and goes into the living room to sit with the others. None of us, except for Johnson knew what was going on. He was there when Jaylyn ran into the house to save her damn mother.

"God dammit!" I shout and throw the cup I was holding against the wall.

"Nate? What's wrong?" Violet asks from the living room.

"Everything! Why couldn't she just let her mother die in that fire?" I shout and throw the item closest to me against the wall, which was an empty liquor bottle. "She has done nothing for her! She was just there to remind Jaylyn of what her brother being gone did!" I shout and start to get frustrated with myself.

"That's still her mother no mater what." Violet says to me.

"Why does that matter? I watched my mother get shot by my father because he wanted money. I didn't save him when he drowned. So why should Jaylyn do the same? She's done nothing but her Jaylyn for her entire life! She hurt the one person who I can talk to, the one person who doesn't see me as the monster everything this world has made me out to be, the person I love most out of anything." I say put my elbows on the counter and rest my head in my hands.

"Wait...you love her?" Violet asks.

"Yes okay? I love Jaylyn." I say admitting my feelings to the people who follow my every move.

Jaylyn is the light of my life. When I saw her at my party I just knew I needed her in my life. Her body was the first thing I noticed, she was physically the most beautiful person I've ever seen. But her mind, it was a place filled with the most powerful thoughts and the most confidential information for anybody and just filled with the most knowledge for a person to contain.
