WARNING GRAPHIC VIOLENCE

It's been a week since I've talked to any of the guys. I haven't seen them at school as I have no classes with them, but they didn't come talk to me at lunch as they seemed to now respect what I wanted.

I was laying in my mother's bed while she was video calling my father. Apparently he also knew about the whole experiment thing and decided to keep me in the dark about it. One thing he did do that was truthful was keep up with the bills for our house.

"Are you feeling okay?" My father asks me. I shrug. I could be crying but I'm not. There was no reason for me to but it just seemed like I should. Everything was just so confusing at this point I don't know if any of it is real.

"I'm going to get some water. Want anything?" I ask my mom. She shakes her head and continues talking to my father. I get up and walk to the kitchen where I grab a water bottle and fill it up with ice and water. Then I lift up my shirt and put some burn cream on myself. The things that happen to me are so unreal I don't even know what to think of this anymore.

All of this seemed like it only happened in movies. None of it seemed to happen in real life, and it does. Even if I were to believe that all of this was real, which I now do, I never would have expected it to happen to me. Out of all people in the world I get dragged into a world of drug lords, gangs, and murderers. I am just the looser nerd at my school who wants nothing but to be cool. If this is what "cool" is then screw it, I'd much rather be a looser for the rest of my life.

"Jay your phone is charged." My mom shouts to me from her bedroom. I put my shirt down and walk back into her room and grab my phone. There were many texts from Johnson, Nate, and an unknown number.

From Johnson: Are you okay?

From Johnson: I know he kicked you out but he was angry

From Johnson: He wants to keep you safe

From Johnson: Jaylyn answer your phone

From Nate Maloley: Jaylyn

From Nate: Jay

From Nate Maloley: Please answer me baby

From Nate Maloley: I'm so sorry

From Nate Maloley: I never wanted to get mad it's just my natural response

From Nate Maloley: Jay please tell me you're okay

From Blocked ID: Why are you ignoring your friends and lover Jaylyn?

From Blocked ID: Who were you calling the night you were walking in the town Jaylyn?

From Blocked ID: You're house has a nice vanilla smell Jaylyn

From Blocked ID: New picture message!

When I look at it I notice it was a picture of my bedroom.

"Mom!" I whisper and instantly and show her the picture. Her eyes go wide and she packs up a bag.

"Okay we're going to sneak out my window okay?" She asks me. I nod and grab my bag which I brought back from Nate's. When my mom wasn't looking I put a gun in the back of my jeans. My mom puts her backpack on and I do the same. She opens the window and waved me over so I could go first.

My mom hoists me up and I straddle the windowsill. I reach my hand down and she grasps it and I pulls her up. Then I jump down and land on the ground as quietly as I could. My mom follows me and we both run into the woods.

Seconds after we leave the side of the house we hear gunshots. "They're in the woods!" Someone shouts and shoots at us hitting the tree next to my face.
