They ate in silence, not hate silence but pleasant silence as they all enjoyed the roasted duck.
"Charlotte, if I must say, you make amazing food." Adrien smiled and turned his head to look at Charlotte who sat at the end of the table.
"Ha!" Aldwyn stood up all of a sudden pointing accusingly at Adrien, "look at your ears pretty boy you are an elf! I can not wait to tell the King so he can chop off your head!" Aldwyn spat venomously.
Adrien's face flashed in anger but remained calm. "Sit down lover boy." His voice was calm but behind the words were the angry waves during a storm ready to drown a ship any chance it got and the ship in this case was Aldwyn.
Aldwyn stared blinking before anger boiled up in his system again.
"You want to settle this like men?" Aldwyn glared, if looks could kill Adrien would be buried six feet under the ground right at that moment.
With a single fluid movement Adrien raised two fingers muttering the word "hama." And bringing his fingers down in a sharp angle downwards.
Suddenly Aldwyn sat down fast on the chair a loud crack sound as his tailbone clashed against the chair, he groaned slightly and red seeped up his neck, clearly embarrassed.
Danica looked at Adrien completely astounded by his use of magic, it was real, Adrien turned and looked at Danica smiling at her slack jaw.
"Do remember Aldwyn I am much older than you, you might think that you have the best brains and you might be able to make the best bread that has ever landed on anyone's tastebuds, but when it comes to fighting that is my job, I have been fighting since I was a bairn, you think that you could challenge me but you are outnumbered with your mortality and wisdom." Adrien's eyes were sparkling with the candlelights surrounding them, somehow making him seem more dangerous.
Sebastian leaned forward on his elbows and cupped his mouth, hiding amusement it was clear what side he was on.
Charlotte looked dumbfounded, her knife and fork poised hovering in the air as she looked between the two.
Suddenly a loud sound of a bang corrupted the silent air surrounding the farm, startling the both of Charlotte and Danica.
Adrien perched upright, even in injury he was prone to any sound that would set him off in his fighting stance. Aldwyn was the same his back straight and his eyes wide open.
The bang came again and this time the windows shook and the house seemed to vibrate with shockwaves.
"What in the gods name is happening?" Danica demanded preparing to get up from the table, just as Adrien's hand shot out and gripped hers with a strength that made her sit down.
"This is not good." Adrien turned in his seat to look at Danica.
"What's wrong?" Danica looked at Adrien and felt fear bubble up inside her seeing the look on Adrien's face, if he was scared so should Danica.
He leaned over whispering in her ear. "Would you believe me if I told you to the light elves there is a great evil?" He sat back watching her with a guarded expression.
"Yes of course I would."
"And would you believe me if I told you that we will have to make a run for it right now before we are all splattered to pieces in the ground?" Adrien directed everyone this time watching everyone's reaction.
