Chapter One: Prelude.

It still wouldn’t get out of her head.

She was hoping that their love story would go on and would never end. And all of those moments that she had shared with him were still stuck in her head. Those words of promises and love that he had whispered on her ear, his contagious smile, his bright green eyes, his messy and curly dark hair that she had always liked and ran her fingers in, and those luscious lips that she had savoured for weeks…

He had fooled her. He had seduced her to let her fall into his trap, and she had willingly let him. No second thoughts, no hesitations at all. She had let him lie to her, yet she trusted him with her whole heart. She gave him her heart, her whole body, her everything, because she loved him so much. And he had won this dark, twisted game that she didn’t realise that they were playing.

She was blinded by her love for him. And she was suffering the consequences.

Only one name had kept on crossing her mind. Harry Styles.

How stupid you can be, Taylor Swift, she thought grimly, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. She knew that her makeup was ruined, and her mascara must’ve been running down her cheeks already and some of it was on her hands already, but she didn’t mind. She was wasted.

She remembered those times when they held each other’s hands as they strolled around, not caring about the paparazzi snapping pictures of them together, or the many people gawking at them as they walked past them. She remembered their kiss on New Year’s Day, their cuddles as they watched movies together in his place, and the numerous nights that they had spent together.

But, sadly, all of those were done. There was nothing else that she could do to go back to that time. Their relationship was finished in a cruel way that she had never expected.

‘Stop acting as if you’re Miss I-Never-Swear-Because-That’s-Bad.’

‘You should really go out and party sometimes, Taylor.’

‘I don’t understand you sometimes. Maybe we’re incompatible or something.’

‘You’re so boring.’

Those words that he had told her during their countless fights in the past few months kept on ringing in her ears and she was so sick and tired of hearing them repetitively, over and over again.

Completely pissed off, she let out a frustrated growl and she angrily pushed her things away from the top of her dresser, letting her makeup fall down on the wooden floor with a crash, her perfume bottles to roll around the floor, and her picture frames of herself and her best friends to shatter. She was just so mad at him, at the whole world, at herself. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Taylor then stared at the lone picture that she had pinned on the mirror. It was her and Harry, a snapshot that she took a few weeks back. On the picture, they were kissing, and Taylor was holding the camera, but only their closed eyes and their noses which were close together were caught on the photo. There was something on that picture that she had really liked, but not anymore.

Ripping it off, she crumpled it into a ball and tossed it into a trash can standing near her dresser. She also included the white teddy bear that he had given her on New Year’s and the photo album filled with pictures of the two of them together. Taylor kicked the trash bin angrily, making it rattle and tumble and sending the trash to spill onto the floor.

‘God, Taylor, you’re so wet…’

‘I bet you want me to fuck you right now. I know you want it…’
