Chapter Six: Apart.

After the horrible weeks that Taylor spent crying over her ex-boyfriend, the blonde singer had finally gained some energy to go outside of her dressing room and breathe in the February air. It was a lovely Saturday morning when she finally decided to step outside and enjoy life once again.

“Go outside, Taylor. Live life, have fun. I know that that’s what you’ve done before Harry walked in your life,” Ed had told her after they had watched a comedy movie together in her dressing room on the night of Valentine’s Day. “You don’t have to be all alone in your misery. Actually, you don’t have to be miserable at all! You’ve got friends who’ll cheer you up and make you smile. You’ve got me.”

She knew that he was right. She knew that she had to stop pining over Harry Styles, move on from him, and continue with her life. Someday, she hoped, she would find the right one for her, someone who would never hurt her, who would be with her for the rest of her life.

That’s all what she wanted to have. The fame and popularity and money were just a bonus, but all she really wanted was to find somebody who would be her partner in life, who would be ready to accept her attitude and her real self. But, she was quite sure that it would be tough to find someone like that.

Her only refuge and crying shoulder was Ed Sheeran, but he didn’t seem to be an option for a few days since he had gotten in a plane earlier that day back to the United Kingdom for his birthday gig on the 17th. Taylor was quite sad after knowing this through a phone call that she received from him the night before.

“I’ll be gone for a few days for the gig that I’ve been telling you about,” Ed informed her. “And I do hope that you could come with me though. Then I could take you to a pub. Like, a proper pub.”

Laughing softly, she told him, “I’d really love to go in a pub with you, but you do know that I couldn’t go with you.” She paused and sighed sadly, and from the other line, Taylor heard Ed sigh, too. “Come on, don’t be mad at me. I’m really sorry. I mean, I really want to go with you, but I just can’t.”

“Nah, that’s okay, I understand,” the redhead replied, although it was obvious that he was dejected.

“Are you mad at me?” Taylor asked, pouting slightly.

“Mad at you? How can I be mad at you?” Ed asked her, and she could actually hear him grin from ear to ear. “Come on, Tay. I will never be mad at you, you know that. I can’t find a reason why I would ever get mad at you. You’re, like, a perfect human being.”

“But I’m not perfect…” Taylor whispered to herself, but it was just loud enough for Ed to hear on the other line. Suddenly, her happy attitude had sizzled away. She clutched the phone tighter, as if she was gripping it for her dear life. “I will never be…”

“You will always be perfect for someone out there,” Ed assured her, trying to cheer her up. “Taylor, you’re perfect to me. Yeah, you may commit mistakes and you may not be the most beautiful girl in the world in the eyes of others, but for me, you’re perfect and beautiful in every way. You’re unique.”

Clicking her tongue, she retorted, “Nobody is perfect, Ed. And no matter how hard I try, I couldn’t be the girl that everybody wants me to be. I couldn’t please them—”

“Tay, you are not here in this world to please everybody,” he told her, his tone serious. “Listen to me; you don’t have to be Miss I-Am-So-Perfect-So-Love-Me. So what if somebody doesn’t like you? You don’t have to do what everyone wants you to do. Do what you want to do. When they tell you to change yourself, just tell them to go fuck themselves—”
