I wouldn't be able to shake the uneasy feeling that I was being watched for the next two weeks. No amount of telling myself to knock it off and that I was being a baby eased it. Every small noise in the house, every creak of the floor boards, every time the furnace kicked on I felt fear tear through my whole body until I could investigate and make sure it was nothing serious.
This increased by a million percent if Lucy was around.
Niall looked up at me when I just about hit the ceiling in my kitchen when the trash man pulled up and banged the trash cans outside. He quirked an eyebrow,
"You've been jumping like that a lot lately...it's just the garbage truck. You ok?"
I shrugged,
"Just....on edge. Feels like the other shoe's about to drop."
"What other shoe?"
"The one that's going to hit me right in the face and destroy everything."
He sighed, shaking his head,
"Stop bein' so paranoid about everythin'. All the drama is passed. Everythin' is fine now."
Only everything wasn't fine. Harry and I were as far apart as two people could be and it was only getting worse as the days passed. I nodded,
"I'm workin' on it."
I stirred the honey into my tea, setting the spoon down on a plate on the coffee table.
"Are you coming with me to the studio today?" He asked.
I shook my head,
"No. Lucy needs a haircut and I'm going to meet Zayn for lunch."
Niall grimaced a bit though he tried to hide it,
"H-how's he doin?" He asked. I couldn't tell if he really wanted to know or if he was asking just to be polite.
Zayn had called off his wedding to Perrie a few weeks ago and virtually disappeared since then. I rarely got any requests from him now. Just a few texts to let me know he was ok and that was pretty much about it. He was headed to LA for a month in 3 days so he wanted to see Lucy before he left.
"He seems fine. A little bummed out...but that's to be expected I suppose."
Niall nodded,
"He seems like he's a little.....off." He finished as he picked up a few Legos. He and Lucy had been building a castle with them on the floor of the living room for the last hour. He handed one to her and she grabbed it and secured it in place.
I sat down on the couch,
"Ya know, you could call him and talk to him yourself....see how off he is."
Niall shrugged,
"Dunno that we have much t'talk about." He muttered.
"I think you have plenty to talk about."
He watched as Lucy put the last Lego in place and held her arms up in the air,
"All done!" She announced.
Niall knitted his brows as he looked back at the structure she'd created,
"Doesn't look much like a castle, Diz." Lucy only giggled in response.
I checked my watch,
"Go get your shoes on, Baby....time to leave."
Niall checked his watch and hopped up off the floor,
