Prince Charming: (To the audience) what am I to do? I can’t marry Bella! I hate her! Father’s told us to marry, since we were kids, I can't marry her! She's...
(A knock on the door)
Tom:(From off-stage) Charming?
Prince Charming: Not at all!
Tom: So, you're not at home?! I better tell the King!
(Prince Charming looks confused)
Prince Charming: Come in!
(Enter Tom)
Tom: Prince Charming, I bring great news! Bella is going to the ball! SHE'S GOING TO THE BALL!
Prince Charming: Ok, now give me the great news!
Tom: She's going with King Charming!
Prince Charming: Still waiting on the great news Tom!
Tom: Oh... that's all the news...
(Prince Charming sighs)
Prince Charming: I don't want to go to the ball! I DON'T WANT TO MARRY BELLA! I DON'T WANT TO BE A PRINCE!
Tom: So... Can I be one?!
Prince Charming: No! NO YOU CANNOT!
Tom: I'd make an excellent King! I'd marry Bella!
Prince Charming: God save us all!
Tom: Miss Bella is a pretty lady...
Prince Charming: Yes but I don't want to MARRY her!
Tom: Can I?!
(Prince Charming shrugs)
Prince Charming: Why don't you ask her!
Tom: Ok!
(Exit Tom)
Prince Charming: He's lovely, don't get me wrong but I doubt Bella will agree to marrying him
(Enter Tom)
Tom: She... she... kind of said no...
Prince Charming: That's a shame
Tom: She's playing hard to get... I like that!
Prince Charming: She'd be lucky to have a man like you Tom...
Tom: YOU REALLY THINK SO?! I GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT! I'M GOING TO THE BALL AND I'LL SHOW HER! I'LL SHOW HER THAT I'M BETTER THAN A KING! I BETTER BUY A NICE OUTFIT!
(Exit Tom)
Prince Charming: Everyone's got dates! EVERYONE BUT ME! I know... I'LL ASK A FRIEND! But who?! (To the audience) Who do you think!
Audience: (Depends on name)
Prince Charming: I know! I'LL INVITE THAT LOVELY HIGHWAY MAN!
Audience: (Whatever they reply)
