I woke up the next day and looked around. I got up slowly and head to the window and took a look out, smiling as the sun was shining perfectly. I looked up as there was a knock at the door. "Come in," I said. "Happy Birthday honey!" My mom grinned as she walked over and hugged me tightly. "You're growing up so fast. I can't believe you're 18" She said with a pouted her lip. I laughed and shook my head. "Thanks, mom," I said as I hugged her back. She pulled away and smiled. "Come down. We have breakfast set up and everything." She said before rushing out. I laughed a bit and shook my head, grabbing a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a tank top, along with a flannel. I headed into the bathroom and took a quick shower before I got dressed and did my hair and makeup.
I grab all my things before I headed down and smiled as I saw people looked up. "Happy Birthday!" Most of them cheered and laughed, some coming to me and giving me a hug. "Thanks, everyone. But go on. It isn't a big deal. And if it is, just celebrate it tonight please" I nodded, honestly hating having attention drawn to me. They all just nodded and wished me another happy birthday before going on about their own business. I headed into the living room and smiled as my mom made my regular birthday breakfast. I walked over and kissed her cheek. "Thanks, mommy" I giggled and sat down.
I began to eat and hummed happily to myself. "There's my birthday princess," My dad said coming over and kissed my head, hugging me from behind. I grinned and kissed his cheek. "Morning dad," I said and finished up breakfast. "I would love to stay longer, but I have to get to school," I said, clearly in a bit of a rush. "Honey don't be disappointed if you don't find your mate at school. Maybe you'll find them tonight at the party" My mom reminded me. I looked at her and nodded a bit. "Alright. I'll try to keep Allison from getting upset, and all" I said, grabbing my keys and kissed their cheeks before I headed out to my car and got in, turning it on and looked in the mirror.
I drove to school, listening to the radio and singing along quietly as I was clearly in a great mood. I got out and headed over towards the building and stopped in my clear track when I could smell something, or someone. 'Mate!' Alex instantly howled out. I looked around and frowned as I couldn't point out anyone since there was a lot of people around. 'Where Allison?' I asked her. I knew she was looking around, trying to point out a particular person.
"Hey" Someone pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up and sighed as I looked at Amanda. "They were here. They left. I can't smell them anymore" I frowned a bit. She looked at me and nodded her head. "Come on. Everyone from the pack will be at the party tonight. They won't be able to run from you then" She said and linked her arm with mine, Justin growling. "Oh shut up," she said towards him and hit him in the back of the head. I laughed and began to walk with her inside, smiling and replying to a few people who wishes me a happy birthday.
When we got to my locker I opened it, laughing at some of the notes some of my friends taped to my locker. I grabbed my books and closed it, looking over as Justin and Amanda made out next to me. "Get a room" I groaned and shook my head at them, walking off to my first period, glancing around at a few people who passed by me.
