Chapter 4

The next part is taken from Vanessa's personnal diary she used to keep at the time :

« The week in Scotland was amazing, just normal kid stuff. Even if it was freezing, we still went for a swin in the pool. We walked all around the propriety, in the wood and the countryside. We even went hunting one day, I did not really like it but I got to say it was fascenating. Then the boys and Ashley participed in a rubgy game. I never saw something like it, it looks a bit like american football but more violent, nodody wore protection and they just tackling each other hardder and hardder, hitting the ground and standed up and walk it off. Well, not all of them, Stephen got tackle in the first minute and stayed down, even more humiliating, it was Ashley who tackle him. I notice that from time to time, whenever something phisical was involved, Alex checked often his pulse,and the during the game, he went on his knees one or twice to catch up his breath, that was you get from smoking i guess. When they go tired of hurting each other and their clothes turn to mud, they decided to bother us. Alex picked up Emma and rushed to the pool followed by everybody. I loved it, it was so furfilling, jumping in cool water, splashing each other till our lips turn blue.

I spend a lot of time with Isabelle, we got along great. Chace spend most of his time with Alex, Ashley, Chuck and of course Emma. Her and Alex were defenetly dating but there were that kind of couple that didn't need to show off their love to the world, it was gently gesture, nice kiss, wink and smile, they were happy. I wish Stephen and I were a bit more like that, but we were both not really demonstrative, never touching in public as we were taugh. Stephen and Jesse spend mostly of their time appart from everybody, just looking mean and bored. But I not letting that bother me, I am having a nice time and not going to wasted my time with those two idiots.

Anyway, back to Isabelle, she told me a lot about everybody here. For exemple, she explained the bond between the three best friends. Each one had their story. Starting with Chuck, his father was a awful brutal man that used to beat him when he was small while his mother just choose to not look. He used to take his anger on others kids, making himself a bully.

Aslhey was a normal girl till she was eleven when she started dating a much older boy who try to go a little to far and she regected him. As a revenge he go the world around that she was an easy girl and the entire school took it for granted, mocking her everyday. Oh and her mother is half Italian.

At last, Alex didn't live very well the lost of his mother. She died when he was five, ever since he strated to build himself up, becoming very shy and started to withdraw into himself.

All three of them were in the same bording school, a really posh school for only rich kids and powerfull famillies, but never actually talk to each other. Until one day, the first day of middle school, night actually, there were a huge back to school party that the three of them attended. Of course, the last years took over and forced the newcommers into drinking and smoking. And as you might have guess, the three lonesome kids took it to far, hopping to forget their pain I guess. Anyway, it still is a mystery of how the three of them ended up completly drunk on the top of a hill. Alcool filling their blood, they talked, reaviling their secrets to each other and the thruth. The next day, they woke up hangover and stayed the entire day on the same hill, having their first fag ever. From that day on, they became best friends, inseperable. Letting go of their past, they became for the first time themself. They even learn Italien in order to speak in from of everybody whitout being understood. Then they meet Emma a few years later, it love at first time with Alex they been together for the past five years. Yeah I Know ! Who would have guess ? »
