As the day went on, they all joined her into her room, since she couldn't move without heaving her head spining. She felt sorry to waste their last day here and keep apologising, to which they all respond one by one that they didn't have anything better to do. It was actually fun for once to stay in bed the entire day, laughing as the others told jokes and old memories. Apparently, they had worst night than her all the time. Even once, Chuch go stuck his head into a bin and they had to call the fireman to get him out. Alex proposed to an stranger which I guess drove Emma crazy at the time even if she was laughing happily at the moment, apparently the stanger said yes and Ahsley and Chuck found them in front of a church just in time to save him front a huge mistake. Even worst, the « dream team » , that was the nickname for the three best friends at school, once wake in a other city, in an unknow house 150 kilometres front their school. But as Alex sais, that how you make new friends. To this day, they still don't know how they ended up there. Jesse finally started to relax and suprise everybody by telling his story. One time he got so drunk that he feel asleep on top of a police car after being sick all over himself. The stranger part was that Alex was there. Weren't suppose to hate each other ? Isabelle and her believed that this hatred came from the fact that Jesse was deeply in love with Emma, explaining the means look he keep giving to them. But they had being friends at one point, maybe Emma was the reason they driffted appart. As usual, only Septhen didn't open his mouth execpt to critizise.

It was time for goodbye. What a sad thought, it was the first time Vanessa actually enjoyed herself, and now it was gone until maybe.

- Still going to Florida ? ask Chace

Every summer, the Doulister spend three week in Florida to visit their other grand ma, on their mother side. Vanessa loved her, she was loving, caring and kind of funny unlike the Grinch.

-Yep answered Chuck. Always ready to party.

- For how long ? demanded Vanessa

- Three weeks replied Ashley, execpt for Alex and Emma.

- We are going to Cuba for our 5 years anniversary. Explained Emma

- I still will come for at least two week. Said the Duke

They all went to the airport together and then went their own way. During the flight, Vanessa thought back of those two crazy weeks, she had meet some new people, and made a new friend in Isabelle. She didn't notice when Chace sat next to her, took her hand and stared at her.

- How long have you being there ? she said relasing his presence

- About 10 minutes, what were you thinking about ?

- Just about what happen during thoses two week

- It's nice to be away from the Grinch once in a while.

They both smile to each other, then she added truthuly.

- It is nice to be just Vanessa for a while, not Vanessa The freaking princess.

They all sleep for a bit, in order to keep the jeet lag the smallest possible at their arriving. But as Stephen slowly moved toward her, she knew what was coming. They didn't echange a word since the drunk incident and he didn't see happy at all. As she guessed, the repoches flew one by one.

- Vanessa, do you realize what you did ?

She didn't answered, she won't answered.

- You embarrased your familly, your country and me. You spended all your time with somes alcoolics junkies. Do you know how it looked like ? And how the Queen would react if one day she learn waht happenned ?

« They are not Junkies, or alcoolics, sure, they could drink or smoke less but it didn't change anything at all. And don't bring my grand ma into thing. You promised to says nothing and you better stick to that »

- It is like i don't know who you are anymore, you change.

Good, now shut up and leave she thought very hard. It was time like that she wished she had telekenessie power.

- You're not going to answer ?

She starred straight ahead, not moving a inch. Maybe it was like an animal, if you play dead, they would leave you alone.

- Well come see me once you realise your mistakes and stop acting like a child.

« You're going to wait a long time Pal ». She knew she shouldn't be proud of being drunk in the middle of the wood but she couldn't help it. In some way, it was a act of rebelion againt the Queen and her life. Plus Stephen was never going to break up with her, she was still going to be queen one day and all he wanted was to be there, telling her what to do, pulling the string. She sometime wandered if he actually like her, and didn't enjoyed power more. He always treated her like a child, grounding her when she did something wrongt and looking down at her. She used to accept that, thinking he was wright, knowing she was just a child. It didn't really matter, because even if she thought she was in love two weeks ago, now that she saw the way that Emma and Alex looked at each other, she knew it wasn't it. And as each day went by, she despise him a little bit more.

To her suprise, she never recieved that lesson from Jesse, he seems far too lost in his though. It must be hard to love somebody and to see her be happy with somebody else, she felt a bit of pitty for her cousin. She actually wanted to get up and take him into her arms but she didn't dare. Maybe Stephen was wrongh, maybe she didn't change at all, she was just the same shy girl.

Then she look over at Sophia, she saw her in a new day. She as always being a bit jealous of her cousin. Sophia has always been more beautiful and popular than her, she didn't have trouble to speak to stranger and moreover to boys. But now, she realised how sad it was, Sophia had made a fool of herself thoses entire weeks just for a boy that didn't even look twice at her. The more he ignored her, the hardest she tried. Isabelle had told Vanessa that when she took a little trip into the forest, Alex had said very harsh stuff to her cousin, harsh but true. As long as she could remember, Sophia had never been rejected by anyone, it was certainly a hard blow for her but every one deserve one once in a while. Sophia didn't dare to look at the duke after that night and she seems like she was ashame of herself. Vanessa never thought her cousin could one day feeling that. That trip has brought some changes around here, for better and for worst she told herself.

At the airport, their driver was passently waitling for them. She remember one time her mother insisted upon her father to bring her to the airport after one of the few breaks her Gram allowed her to spend with her family. Once her gram heard that, she went into a red rage and phone her mother to tell her off, telling her that a queen wasn't went to be concoon by her parents and stuff. Her mother could stand up against her husband but never against the queen. Ever since, it was a driver that took Vanessa back and forth.

Once theit suitcase where in the truck and all of them in the back of the limo, they took off for the palace where their Gram, her parents and uncle and aunt, Sophia and Jesse's parent were waiting for them. Stephen had held a taxi and went his own way declaring having a job to do. Vanessa guessed it was just an exusce because he was still mad with her but she couldn't care less, she was actualy greatfull to have him off her back for a while, she couldn't stand to be look down upon permanantly.

The welcoming could have being happier if Gram didn't reprimanded her for giving a hug to her mother. « Queens don't show signs of effection ». Vanessa muffled the world at the same time she said it, having heard them a millions time already. But she didn't care, in three weeks, she would be in Florida with her family and her new friends. And that made her happy.
