So I rediscovered some oil paints that a friend had gifted me and I finally worked up the courage to attempt working with them. Let me tell you.... The smell is noxious. Also, my arms were covered in oil paint because I don't have a decent place set up explicitly for my creative endeavors. If I ever get a place to myself, I need an art station in a little corner somewhere so I don't make such a mess anymore.
Anyways, here is the oil painting!
I started with a plain blue background and an orange heart. I've showed this to some people and they think the heart is resting in water because of the black ripples around it and then the white specks are reflections of stars. Some people think the heart is sewn into the sky. Let me know your interpretation.
Then I added the patches:
You can see from the towel, that I got oil paint LITERALLY EVERYWHERE.
The finished product took a week to dry. Here it is in all its glory:
The black patch in the top right section is my sister. The yellow patch is my friend, Verano. The green patch is my trip to Honduras. The red patch is 2013. The gray patch on the bottom left section is my biological father. The navy patch is 2015.And thus ta-da! My latest work so far. Currently working on a piece that I started with markers and am now finishing up digitally. I may put it here but I don't know yet. So long for now!
