"Hey, wake up," a gruff female voice said as Ruth was kicked awake.
"What," Ruth said as she awoke groggily.
"Get these on," the guard barked as she threw clothes at her. Ruth pulled off her old clothes and put on the clothes the guard had given her as quickly as she could. She looked at what she was wearing and frowned.
"What am I wearing," Ruth asked. Looking down at the black sweat pants and gray tee shirt she wore, "and what is this logo?" The logo was a red circle with two black hour glasses placed horizontally across the circle.
"All the experiments have to wear these clothes," the female guard told her.
"Experiments," Ruth questioned her face showed how frightened she was?
"Come on, no more questions rat," the guard pulled her up and pushed her out the door. Ruth looked around as she was guided down a long gray hallway with doors on each side. After a short walk, they arrived at a door with a sign reading, Project Nightmare.
"Project Nightmare," Ruth read as dread filled her.
"In you go," the guard said as the door was opened and Ruth was shoved into the room. The room looked like a large doctor's office. There were around thirty other people in the room all dressed the same way she was. They were told to line up and wait for further instructions.
"We will be back," a scientist said as he began talking to a doctor as they left the room. After they left Ruth began to look at her companions. She turned to her left and right and realized that she recognized five of her fellow prisoners.
"Zayne," Ruth questioned, "Delany, Natalie, Catty, Sara?"
"Ruth," they said in unison.
"Hey guys," Ruth said in an excited whisper, " its been a long time."
"What are you doing here," Delany asked?
"My entire family was arrested for reading the Bible," Ruth said, "They interrogated me and told me to renounce God. I refused and I ended up here. How 'bout you guys, why are you her?"
"Pretty much the same thing," Natalie responded for all of them.
"Do you know what's happening here?" Ruth asked inquisitively.
" I read somewhere," Zayne said smartly, "that the government was doing experiments on criminals. I never thought that they were actually doing it, though." As Zayne finished talking the scientist came back with a trolley full of syringes. As they were preparing the first person for the experiment, Ruth and her friends were silently praying as the scientist picked up the first syringe
