Chapter 10

Madison's POV

"Did you know? Just tell me grandma. Did you know?!" I asked, practically yelling & unable to hold myself.

"Yes. I did. But I didn't want to tell-"

"Well you should of. You know I love you grandma.." I sighed, kissing her on her forehead.

"I know maddie. It's just hard to tell people, you know? I didn't want anyone to worry about me. And please don't tell your parents, I don't want any fuss during my last few weeks." She said.

I could see some sadness in her eyes. Maybe she had some stuff she regretted about, or maybe she didn't live life to its fullest or maybe she just thought about grandpa or dad.

"Listen Maddie, I hope you had a great summer in malibu, that's all I want for you. I want you to be a happy and normal little girl. You're smart and you're beautiful and you shouldn't let anyone tel you any different. I love you sweets."

"I love you too grandma." I said, wiping away the tears with my hands and hugging her tightly.
We didn't stop hugging for thirty minutes.

"So are you gonna call your parents?" Asked Jack.

"I'm not. She asked me not to, she doesn't want anyone to worry or anything."

"But it is something to worry about baby." He said, biting his bottom lip. "You should call them."

"She doesn't want any fuss around during her last days.."

We were silent for a few minutes.

"Madison." He said, in a serious tone now.

"Yeah?"

"I know this is nor the time nor the place for this talk but, summer's almost over." He said, looking into my eyes.

His eyes were intense, brown, dark and light at the same time. I loved his eyes. I could stare at them for ages.

"I know."

"And I don't wanna pressure you into staying or anything but what are you planning to do after summer is over?" He asked.

"I have no idea. Can we not talk about this now though? I'm sure everything will work out baby."

He hugged me. And not the normal hug, he hugged me for a long time. It was a comforting hug, the type of hug you want after a really shitty day. He smelled like cologne.

I hope everyone has that type of hug one day.
