Chapter 8 "Reunion"

The white creature howled loudly, enough to make some people cover their ears, then he raised his ears forward, squinted his eyes, wrinkled nose, curved lips, showed fangs, crouched and got ready to leap. He was waiting for the right moment to lunge.
  His soft like silk looking tail was about 6 meters long, swaying through the air. He was beautiful.
  Kai took a step forward but got blocked by his girlfriend immediately;
  "What are you doing? You heard the guy; Boss became level 55! This was a level 55 D Rank Dungeon from the beginning! We wouldn't stand a chance."
  "I'm level 57." replied Kai in a low voice then continued to walk towards the black cloaked boy who had just killed all the sentinels, and the giant wolf. When he got there, the black cloaked boy smiled underneath his hood;
  "I thought you wouldn't recognize me."
  "Of course I did." Kai smiled back and they attacked the Boss together with the giant wolf finished off the last standing Sentinels.
  With one combined hit, the Boss fell on his knees and thrown apart. Some started to cry out the joy of surviving, and some from the sorrow of losing their loved ones.
  People started to gather around Kai and the black cloaked boy as a notification popped up about their heads;

'Congratulations!
You've cleared the 25th Dungeon.
Enjoy the new island; Aerule.'

  Some loot chests and gold added in the players' bags while the Island Gate started glowing brighter. As it started glowing brighter, the bodies of deceased dissolved.
  "Who are you? Show yourself." Zerthai demanded.
  "Woah, rude much?" unknown boy chuckled as his pet growled at the Captain, caused him to step a foot back.
  "Dude, he's just saved us! Thank before interrogating." scolded Rein.
Zerthai glared at him while Captain Mathis offered the unknown boy a warm smile;
"Thank you, for saving.. most of us. I don't mean to pry, but how did you know that we were in need of help?"
"Ah. I happened to hear that 3 guilds in temporary alliance were going to clear the 25th Dungeon today with the glorious Black Master." he paused briefly, mocking his friend's the most recent nickname, before pointing Kai and added, "We're friends and I was keeping an eye on his HP bar from my 'Friends List'. I saw that his HP and energy was getting low dangerously so I dropped everything and teleported to him but you were in a dungeon and players can't teleport IN dungeons. That's why I had to use the front door and cleared the dungeon from the start line. Sorry, I wasn't fast enough to save all of you." he explained.
'All players know the risk of a dungeon, and they accept the consequences when they enter.' thought Kai while everyone was looking at the cloaked boy in shock.
"I- I'm sorry, did you just said 'from the start line'? As in, at the begging of the dungeon?" Mathis asked.
"Yes." unknown boy simply answered, "Oh. I also knock out your gate keepers cause they didn't let me in. Sorry."
Everyone's jaw dropped.
"Do you intend to show your face?" Vice-captain of Dragon Knights, Lys asked.
"I don't think so, no."
"And how do you know him, again?" Rein asked Kai, extremely confused. He didn't even know the black haired boy had.. friends, other than himself of course.
"We've met a long time ago." Kai answered honestly.
"Well, I did my job. I should get going-" the unknown boy said but interrupted himself, "-Ah! I almost forgot-" he searched through his items and smiled slightly when he found the thing he was looking for. He took out a smooth obsidian out of his items and handed it to his friend;
"A gift for you."
  "What?"
  "It's a summoning stone. It'll bind to your character once you activate it. C'mon!"
  Kai hesitated for a second but then touched the shiny black gem and activated it. It turned into a pet. A tiny, black, blue eyed kitten. It looked at Kai and when he brought it closer to his face, the kitten put its paws on the owner's face.
  "Where did you find him?"
  "Secret. You liked him though, right?" he asked, "Sorry, I couldn't resist and named him Kira. Oh and he can transform." the boy glanced at the cat, "Kira has 2 forms; Default and Combat form. Try command him to transform."
  Kai raised his eyebrows as everyone was looking at him with curiosity.
  "Kira, Combat Form!" he commanded, he hated it when the attention was all on him.
  The black kitten jumped off of Kai's arms and transformed into a large monster which was similar to a black puma or a panther, one of those big cats. He wasn't as big as the giant fox~ish wolf but bigger than a usual big cats.
Suddenly a notification popped up in front of the black haired boy;

'Pet Skill Gained: 'Shadow Transform'.
This skill will allow your pet to transform into a shadow and teleport between the desired shadows.'

Kira started to radiate a small amount of black smoke under his paws.
  "See, Legendary Item. Even I didn't know about his skill."
Rein came next to his friend and leaned towards him a little;
"You could've introduced us before, y'know.." the two looked turned their head to other people who had lost some of their friends.
"I didn't know where he was. We haven't talked for a long time either." the younger boy explained.
"We haven't." confirmed the unknown boy, obviously heard everything, "That," he pointed at the dungeon, "makes you owe me once again, oh glorious Black Master." added as he walked towards his pet.
The white summon bowed for him and the black cloaked boy got on the giant canine's back.
"Let's go, Misha." he commanded and the giant started to walk towards the Island Gate. The black cloaked boy looked at them;
"You all gotta survive." he said and disappeared once the giant summon, Misha, leaped into the glowing gate.
The black haired boy could only look after him.
"Kai..? Are you okay?" Alina asked gently as one of the mages came closer and started healing the boy.
"I gotta follow him."
"What?"
Kai grabbed Alina's wrist and started running towards the gate with her as he said;
"WE gotta follow him."
"WHAT?!"
'We gotta survive TOGETHER, Seth.'
