Skylynn
Kaden and I stayed in an empty shelter, eating cereal and drinking water.
"Where should we look next?" She asks, rolling up the bag of half empty cereal, putting it in her bag.
"We're gonna go back to the neighborhood we stopped at, just go much farther. Stay there for the night and continue on." I tell her.

We walked passed multiple houses we've searched, searching through a couple more past them.
We found some supplies taking them with us as we went to another house to search and stay in.
-
We stood at the door, preparing ourselves to fight.
"Ready?" I asked Kaden, and she nodded, re-gripping her pistol.
I focused my attention back on the door, knocking hard.
No noise fills the house, so I open up the door, gripping my knife tightly.
We slowly walk in, and I close the door behind me, locking it. Kaden goes down the hallway by the kitchen, and I follow behind her, knocking on a door.
I open it up, the door creaking as it does; it's like a storage room.
I keep my knife up, looking over the boxes, finding most of them empty.
I open up one that's taped up, finding something's that make my breath hitch.
I pick up the baby toy, it rattling lowly in my hands as I move it around to look at it.
"As if it were brand new..."
I toss it back it, moving the box far away. I leave the room, and go into the room Kadence went in.
I see her going through some drawers and I step up to her, making her jump a bit.
"I only found these matches and candles. Think we'll need em'?" She asks, and I look at the matches.
"Yeah, we'll take them all. Just in case."
-
We finished searching the house, not finding anything extraordinary.
We settle in the master bedroom, having all the entrances and exits locked up.
"What about that house?" Kaden asks, her finger pointing at a house not so far from us; blue with brown, small little house but looked to be in good condition.
"Sure, we'll search from there up. I thought we would've at least found something soon. We didn't lose Jack that from far here..." I begin to think about the possibilities of what happened, wondering about where they, and Jack, could've went. There aren't many ways to go; at least not that I know of... We tried following Jack but got thrown off when a storm hit and we had to take shelter.
"We'll find something tomorrow." Kaden half-smiles. "I've got a good feeling." She tells me, and I smile, starring at houses outside.
'I know you're not far. I can just sense it.'
Kadence
I woke up with the same pain in my lower back. I yawned, sitting myself up, squinting as the bright light shines.
I rub my eyes, seeing Sky by the window.
"How long you been up?" I ask, getting off the bed. "Not long... Five minutes?..." She says, her attention still focused on the outside.
