Next Day;

"They picked us up not too long ago, so we can make an escape soon." I tell Kaden, and she nods, organizing her bag.

"How would we make it through the woods again?" Kaden asks, and I huff.

"We'll stay near the road as a guide, but we have to be deep enough in the woods so that they don't see us. And quick enough so they don't catch us." I tell her and she nods, putting some ammo we took in her bag.

"This place is a hellhole anyway..." I mumble, and she huffs, agreeing.

-

Nighttime comes along, and Kaden and I sneak out of our house. I peek out over the corner of the backyard and look up at the guard posts.

"They're making the switch!" I tell Kaden lowly, and we sprint through the backyards,  our bags hitting us on our backs.

We stop once we reach the road and the large wall.

"Kaden, look to your left and tell me if you see anything. I'll look to my right." I tell her and we both step up, peering out of the shadows to see if anyone is near.

"My side is clear." I hear Kaden say, and I check one more time, just to make sure I'm not fooling myself. "Clear here." I tell her, and I turn back around, crouching.

"Give me the bags - I'm gonna go up first. KEEP WATCH and shoot anyone you see coming." I tell her, and she nods, reaching into her bag. She takes her silencer, putting it on her pistol, handing me her bag.

I slip it on, over my other bag, looking left and right quickly before I run for the gate, Kaden trailing behind me. I get my foot and hand hold, climbing as quickly as possible.

Once I'm at the top, and I look left and right, seeing everyone busy with something.

"C'mon Kaden!" I say quietly, dropping the bags to the grass. She climbs up, and I go down the other side.

I pick up my bag, slipping it on my back. I take my knife, gripping it tightly in my hands - along with Kaden's bag - as she climbs down.

I toss her her bag, and slips it on. "Follow me." I grab her hand, guiding her in my direction as I start running behind two rows of trees.

"It's only a mile AND a half, at the least." I tell her, my breath ragged from the uneven ground.

-

We took only one break, till we started jogging.

"I see the walls, we're almost there!" Kaden pants. We hop over a log in our way, picking up our pace.

The walls start to get larger as we get closer. I stop, and Kaden does as well.

"We have to see if there're any walkers in the road." I pant and she nods, still catching her breath.

We walk out of the trees, and onto the road, looking down. "Not many..." I say to myself, only seeing three.

"C'mon." She says, and I grip my pocket knife. "I got my pistol." She adds.

Five feet away, one of the walkers notices us. The other two do as well, and follow behind the walker, groaning and moaning.
