I point my gun straight at his dirty face. "Put the gun down. I wouldn't shoot if I were you." The man said. He looked to be in his late 20's, early 30's. He had black hair and his clothes were shabby, looked like he survived this when the infection first started. "Who the hell are you?" I say, still pointing the gun at him. "Nathan Grey. It's just me here but I have a group. I'm not taking you to them until you tell me what you know about this apocalypse."
"Like hell I want to go there. But I'll tell you what I know. I turned on the tv and the anchor said to stay indoors. I heard something about an infection spreading about 3 months ago, I'm guessing this is one of the last towns to get hit. My first day in the apocalypse, but as for you, looks like you've been doing this for years."
"Shut up. You may have a gun, but I have a knife." He said reaching for his left pocket, then pulled out a knife. He started to jolt forward to stab me, but I fired my gun. He fell to the ground. I can't trust anyone around here. I make my way to the woods, to look for any animals that are worth hunting for. I keep a lookout for any zombies, or humans as well. I hear twigs crunching. I tap my fingers on my gun, expecting it to be a human, but just a deer. I shoot it, it will make a good dinner.

I finish skinning it and eating it raw, because the truth is, I don't really know how to start a fire. My stomach felt filled, but aches with pain. The sun starts setting fast. I need to find shelter. I stand up to my feet and feel a chill down my back. I was still only in my grey t-shirt and jeans, which are now dirty, and filled with blood, it was getting colder by the second. I search my backpack. At the very bottom was a dark green raincoat material jacket that I must've left in there from school. I unzip it and put it around my arms and zip it back up. It wasn't the warmest but it'll do for now.
