Chapter 10 - First Impressions

"Okay this is her room" he tells me. He turns the door and we both enter the room. I look around. A big pink gigantic comfy bed was in the corner of the classroom. There was a small nightstand with a plain grey lamp sitting on top. The classroom had a dresser and a pile of stuffed animals in a different corner. Sitting on the bed was a chestnut haired girl with a fuzzy light pink sweater and black yoga pants on. She was reading to my thought was a celebrity magazine. She looked up from her magazine and jumped off her bed with joy. "Oh yay! A new member! Hi, I'm Masie!" She seemed like a very happy person with a bubbly personality. "Oh hi. Um, I'm  Izzy Levine. I just wanted to stop in." I try to make a good first impression. "Oh of course I don't mind. I love new people." I look at Calvin. He backs up and whispers something in my ear. "I gotta go out and hunt, talk to her, she's really nice, come find me after, I'm the room  right near the cafeteria." I nod. After he leaves the room, I walk over to Masies bed. "So, is it just you?" She asks. "Um, yeah. My mom, I found her dead. Bitten on the neck."
"Oh I'm sorry. I should've asked that. If it makes you feel better, I have no idea where my parents are. This all happened when I was at school."
"That's too bad. Let's hope there still alive."
"Yeah. Okay let's not talk about depressing stuff. You and Calvin. Are you two a thing? I saw him protecting you from that jerk, Brooke." I try to hide my smile. I don't know. I just met him, but I think I have some sort of feelings for him. It's just like me to, in high school I was a little boy crazy. I had the same personality as Masie, I wonder what the Izzy from before would think of the Izzy now. The one who kills. "Well it's complicated. He's pretty cute, but I don't know. He's pretty funny to, which makes him even more cuter. But I can't think about love when the world is ending." I start to blush unexpectedly. "Well you to would make an adorable couple. And about the 'not thinking about love when the world is ending' thing is not true. When the world is ending, love is one of the things you need to survive. It gives you something to live for." I'm starting to like Masie. She is truly a nice girl. "You're right. I loved my mom. And if Calvin didn't find me in time, I wouldn't have survived."
"Exactly. I just wanted to let you know, Calvin doesn't treat girls the way he treats you. Yes he is the funny one out of most of us, but he never lights up when he's around any other girls except you."
"Wow, I never knew that."
"Yeah, he's a very sensitive guy, me and him were friends since grade 8. I know a lot of things about him. Want me to tell you some things I know?"
"We can talk about this after we eat something, I'm starving."
"Oh how rude of me, I never even asked you if you were hungry! I'll take you, but first, we need to get you the clothes you asked for, I'll even do your hair!"
