Jamie's POV
"Hey Viv, how was your weekend?"
Vivienne, my colleague, ignored my question and gave me a wicked grin.
"Let's forget about me for a second. Amy told me you had a date last night and you never even told me!" She faked being angry at me and I rolled my eyes.
"It was just a first date. Nothing is official yet," I said.
"Is she pretty? Do you like her? Did you two kiss?" She asked rapidly, stirring her coffee.
God, why do girls have to know the ins and outs of everything?
But knowing Viv, I couldn't get away without answering. So I nodded, smiling at the memory of Alison's soft lips against mine.
Vivienne smirked. "Nice going, honey. Finally, you get a girl who actually likes shy guys!"
I smacked her arm playfully. I was shy, no doubt, but it did work at times, contrary to what my guy friends said.
"Come on, we're gonna be late for the meeting anyway." Taking her arm, we went off to the conference room, where there was low hum of friendly chatter as we waited for our boss Warren to come in.

"So now, we have to discuss the design for the HBC Bank headquarters in Manchester," Warren started, once we were giving their full attention to our latest, most important project.
"Vivienne has some interesting ideas for the structure of the building," he continued. "But the people at the bank have their own specifications. I'll read them out so that we can get an idea and get to work."
We all took their notepads out, waiting to jot down the project needs but before Warren could speak, the door slammed open and three tall guys marched in. The one in the middle with curly hair was looking completely furious and as his eyes landed on me, his friends came over to me, grabbing my arms and hauling me out of my chair.
"Hey!" I exclaimed in surprise. "What on earth are you doing? Who are you?" I tried to struggle out of their grip but they were way too strong.
Warren stepped in front of the curly haired man. "Excuse me," he began firmly. "Who are you? How did you get in? We have CCTV footage, you know."
"Yeah we destroyed the cameras," he responded calmly. "Look baldy, I won't hurt anyone in this office if you'll let me talk to Jamie here."
"I'm afraid I'll have to call security," said Warren, his hand poised on the alarm button.
"Then I'm afraid I'm gonna have to kill you." With this, the man took a gun out of his pocket and aimed it straight at Warren's head. Everyone in the room gasped and shrunk back, clearly terrified. Even I was, for I had no idea who these men were. What on earth had I done to provoke their anger?
Warren gulped desperately and he stammered as he spoke to the man again. "O-okay, there's no need for that. I-I beg of you, please don't hurt anyone here, including Jamie."
The man laughed. "Isn't that what I said before you threatened to call security? Now get out of my way." He beckoned to his friends to lead me to him. "Make sure that none of them call security or do any sort of rubbish," he warned. The two men immediately pulled out their guns ensuing his command and everyone else in the room crouched back to the wall in fear.
"Come with me, Jamie," the curly haired man said pleasantly grabbing my arm in a vice like grip and dragging me out of the room. I winced in pain but obviously there was nothing I could do.
He led me to an empty room and pushed me inside as he locked the door behind him.
"Who the hell are you?" I demanded, wishing that my voice didn't sound rather shaky.
"I'm the guy whose girl you went on a date with last night," he said in a slow, angry voice.
What? Alison was this guy's girlfriend?
"I'm pretty sure Alison wouldn't have gone out with me if you're her boyfriend," I said suspiciously. She would have told me about him. She didn't seem like the kind of girl who played around with different boys.
But I never expected her to be with a criminal.
"I don't want you near my Alison," he continued. "She's mine. Do you get that? I want you to cut off all contact with her. I don't want you in her vicinity. Ever."
One part of me wanted to just nod frantically. The other part however, was telling me to not give in just yet.
"Does Alison know that she's yours or are you just some psycho who stalks her?" I asked sarcastically. I regretted it the next second.
His green eyes flashed in anger and before I knew what happened, he punched me straight in the stomach. I fell down and groaned, getting into the fetus position to prevent any more beatings.
I should've known that the first part was right.
"I won't hurt you, Jamie," the man continued. "But you deserved that." He suddenly bent down and grabbed my hair, turning me so that I'd face him.
"I'm not gonna repeat what I said," he said dangerously. "But I'm warning you, if I see you in Alison's vicinity ever again, I will kill you. Do you understand?" He yelled the last sentence before pointing his gun straight on my head. I tried to breathe, tried not to get scared out of my wits but I was sweating bullets.
I didn't want to lose Alison. I wanted to be with her. I wanted to see her sweet smile every day and have her kiss me goodnight.
But if I was dead, I couldn't see that happening. So, I nodded slowly and rather reluctantly. The man withdrew the gun and slipped it back into his pocket. He stood up and walked out of the room. A minute later, I saw him stride along the corridor with his friends. I got up rather shakily and made my way back to the office, hardly believing what the fuck had just happened.
But it was pretty obvious that if I didn't listen to the man, I was in huge trouble.
