  All was silent.

Everything but the wind remained, quiet. At peace. The quietest a planet has ever been. Darkness shrouded the planet and all that shone was the glimmer of the moon. The village, the villages near that and the badlands, all barely visible in what light was cast.

Then, as if the silence were a pane of glass, it shattered.

Frightful cries echoed through the villages, through the valley and out to the badlands. Cries that came from a baby - a girl - cries that screamed that the girl was hungry, that she was tired and that she wanted her mother. The shrill cries woke an entire village, but no one quicker than the house where she rested on the doorstep of.

Upon answering the door, the woman was surprised to see the infant newborn at her doorstep, however, decided to take her in. Suddenly, like someone had stolen the girl's voice, the cries stopped. The baby fixated on the young boy who stood behind his mother. Due to complications of his Jedi Training, the boy had been temporarily sent home. The boy's name was Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"She appeared on the doorstep, which can only mean one thing Obi.." His mother trailed off, staring pitifully at the ignorant child. No words had to be spoken for Obi-Wan to understand, the child before them was a castaway. She was a special castaway, a note tucked into her tight wrap went unnoticed by Obi-Wan's mother but had been noticed by the youngling.

He stepped closer, picking out the piece of thin paper with rushed scrawl, he could read it, however.

"Dark days are approaching, I can no longer trust anyone, not even my own husband. He's a sick man, with very sick plans for the planet, I have fled and if you are reading this then you have my daughter, whom I couldn't bear to name in fear I'd get attached. If she grew up at the hands of her father she would die before she'd know how to love. I love her dearly, but I cannot have her, she will be in a good home, I know it. Take good care of her.

Opal."

Obi-Wan, placed the vague letter on his mother's lap for her to read, although having heard it out-loud was enough. There was no plan in the future to have a second child for the Kenobi's but given the weight of the situation, they knew what they had to do. Smiling at Obi, his mother spoke in a tone of sadness and happiness, "This is your sister now. You take good care of her."

Obi-Wan crouched down in front of the girl and peered up at his mother, "She doesn't have a name." His mother smiled, unsure whether to take pity on the girl or be happy that they had been gifted with another child. "I'm sure you can think of a good name, I'll make some mixture for her, she must be terribly hungry." His mother left the two, Obi felt honoured that his mother left him to think of a name for his new sister.

He pondered in his own thoughts, Valora? no no...Evangeline? no, that's terrible... His mother returned and still, nothing had popped out, he at least wanted to be known for giving her a cool name. It was the hardest Obi-Wan had ever thought about something, Master Yoda would be proud if he could see Obi-Wan right now. "Orabelle!" Obi-Wan grinned and stared at his mother, awaiting her approval. "We could call her Bella for short!" Obi-Wan grinned proudly.

And thus began the life of Orabelle Kenobi.
