Footsteps padded across the pristine floor of the Jedi Temple. The pillars and features blurred past her until she finally stopped by the room full of Jedi Masters. Unlike any Jedi Master meeting, the masters were standing informally to discuss a mission. The white-haired girl hurriedly joined them, although she knew she had no place to be discussing any mission at her age. Mace Windu, noticed the girls presence first, it was his young Padawan. Very young Padawan.
"Orabelle." He spoke warningly, which procured the attention of the other Masters. His Padawan had incredible defiance yet independence, that only being evident when her brother would be whisked away on a mission.
The Jedi Masters had turned to the girl, some unamused, many unsurprised. Qui-Gon Jinn smiled at the girl and crouched down, Orabelle had been devastated to learn that Jedi Masters could only have one Padawan at a time. Growing up with Qui-Gon, she wanted him to be her Master but at her age, she was lucky to have even been presented to a master. Nonetheless, Qui-Gon could only teach her brother.
"I promise this mission won't take long Bella. We're just talking politics."
Orabelle made a face, she found politics boring - like all the other younglings her age - but she still understood the importance of them. "Why do I get the feeling you won't return. I have a bad feeling." She couldn't explain how she knew. Something dark has loomed over the thoughts she had of Qui-Gon as of late, what once was a clear vision of his future, now was clouded.
The aged Jedi Master looked up at Obi-Wan, it had been a shame that many of the masters overlooked the raw talent Orabelle had. It seemed that only Master Windu and Yoda could see what she would become, to everyone else she was an accident waiting to happen or a complete handful. "I cannot ask you to abandon your training to help us speak politics," Qui-Gon argued.
By now the Masters had cleared the room to talk among themselves. The young girl sulked, "but Master Windu said that even when he isn't around, training must still be done, please I have a bad feeling." She insisted, as one strong with the force it wasn't surprising how well she could use the force to sense the future, much like Master Yoda.
Qui-Gon felt bad for chuckling but he was imagining the sight of the young girl protecting an old feeble man like himself. Obi-Wan smiled down at his sister, proud of where she has come from and where she was now. "Alright I will discuss with Master Windu and Master Yoda, I hear you've been excelling in training, faster than your brother."
Obi-Wan scoffed with a hint of a smile, "I'm not so sure about that." Orabelle laughed and hugged both the Jedi, she was never any good at saying goodbye, despite the many times her brother would leave abruptly on many Jedi Missions. No matter how many times her master stressed that attachment is forbidden for Jedi, she still and forever will keep family close to her.
Qui-Gon left the two siblings, as he went to discuss a way for Orabelle to join. Obi-Wan looked proudly at his sister, only now did it strike him that she wasn't actually his sister, he overlooked the obvious features that would point out that the two weren't related like her white head of hair, eyes, even the attitude was different... Sure enough, however, she was loyal exactly like Obi-Wan. He bent down and rested a hand on her shoulder, "Mother would be so proud of you."
Never in her life had she heard of their mother. The moment young Orabelle hit 6 months old she was whisked away and trained just like Obi-Wan was. It was the first and only time she had heard Obi-Wan mention their mother. The comment had made Orabelle grin to herself, although it didn't mask the relentless thought that stuck at the back of her mind. Why have I never seen her, not even a picture?
