he was born november sixth, 1990 in guangzhou, guangdong, china. kris is a chinese-canadian actor. kris is said to have no father figure growing up from early childhood to early adulthood. there has been rumors of him having siblings but nothing has been confirmed.

growing up: at the age of ten, kris and his mother immigrated to vancouver, canada; returning to china five years later to attend guangzhou no. 7 middle school for a short period of time. he was a sports student and was even named captain of the school's football team. his team won 1st place in the china junior nba tournament in the south china region that year. after that particular win, kris was offered an ncaa scholarship that he was forced to turned down to follow his mother back to vancouver where he later attended point grey secondary school and sir winston churchill secondary school. he was captain of the football team for both schools. at the age of seventeen, kris auditioned for s.m. entertainment's canadian global auditions, which were held in vancouver on the fourteenth of october, '07. after he passed the auditions he moved to South Korea, becoming an s.m. trainee in january of '08.
