luhan was in 12 golden ducks, 20 once again, the witness and will be featuring in 2016's film the great wall alongside andy lau and famous american actor matt damon. luhan was previously in exo's subgroup exo-m but departed from the group to become a solo artist after filing a lawsuit against s.m. entertainment to terminate his contract.
he was born april twentieth, 1990 in the haidian district of beijing, china. he is an only child to parents and has admitted that it is quiet lonely. his parents are apart of a business company and his grandfather was said to be a soldier.
growing up: luhan graduated from the beijing shida middle school and attended the beijing haidian foreign language shi yan school before leaving to south korea to attend yonsei university as an exchange student. in '08, he unsuccessfully auditioned for jyp entertainment at their global audition in china. later on in 2010, while studying in seoul, luhan was scouted by an sm representative in myungdeong. this particular casting agent recommended him to audition for the company through the annual 's.m. casting system' he later passed the audition and became a trainee. after luhan's departure from exo, he began his solo career, winning the 'most valuable star' award alongside li bingbing at the 2014 baidu moments conference. (the award was based on baidu's estimation of his popularity through internet searches, mentions, and votes — he also won the 'asia popular idol award' at the iqiyi's year-end award ceremony). on the twenty-seventh of may, 2015, it was announced that luhan will be collaborating with david tao to co-record one of the bidding songs for the 2022 winter olympic games beijing. he was also featured in the five faces of china pt. v on models.com
