.30.
"You're a lot taller for your actual age." I pointed out as me and Lio were lying on the huge bed. The comforter was red but it was neat white underneath. As well as its pillows. Very comfortable room in general.I heard him giggle beside me. "It's because I'm not human, silly."
Yeah, I should know that by now. That I'm the only 'normal' around here.
Our conversation shortly came to an end when Athan knocked on the open door. I decided to call her that by the way. But she told me not to let anyone know what her real name was. She called and leaned sideways against the door frame,"Hey. . ."
Lio sat up then I followed, "Hey." I said as well with a weak smile.
Athan asked, "How are you?"
One's voice echoed in the room, "Lio! Come here!" She called for the kiddo.
"Be right back." Lionardo immediately ran to the door, leaving the two of us. It was silent. I was trying to come up with an answer to "How are you?". Well I'm not too terrified but I also can't say that I'm fine because obviously I'm in a dimension that no other humans know about. And I'm with vampires and witch and a kid that teleports.
"I'm okay. I guess."
Athan walked in closer, "Do you need something?"
I shook my head, looking at the floor. "I'm thirsty for real water but, it can wait." I looked up at her. "I just want someone to talk to."
She seems to have thought about of something before she slowly sat beside me. She's not very close, in fact, a little far for my liking. It was just last night we were cuddling and keeping each other comfort. So it worried me a little. She's been like that the whole day like she's thinking about something really serious.
I also wanted to ask about the person Theodore mentioned. He didn't give names but it gave me the idea he talked about someone from Athan's past. And the girl, the portrait and the ritual they discussed really had me curious.
What was it about?
Looking at her, I saw her teeth show up from her smile, "You need bedtime stories?"
"How did you know?" I chortled. "Please do."
Smiling, she hummed thinking of a story to share. "I can't think of anything." She gave up.
"What? You have this kind of world and you can't think of any story?"
"Why don't you just satisfy your interest and throw me some questions. I know you have some you're itching to ask."
"Well uhm." I deliberated if I should ask about the person Theodore and her was talking about. "That person. The one Theodore asked if you have a picture of. . . Can you tell me about it?"
I don't know why, but out of many things I can ask of, this is what intrigued me the most.
The light on Athan's face slightly faded. She was still smiling a little bit, trying not show her mood swing. Bingo, this is something really serious.
"Oh. . . Anne."
I nodded, still wanting her to continue. "Who is she? If I may ask."
"She's someone I've known for a very long time. . ." At this moment, her head was looking at the ground. She emitted the same aura when we were still in the mountain. She was in a trance again.
