Tessa was only asking for my doings since we haven't met for two weeks. And that was since my accident. She was busy with school projects with her partner while I was sitting home without doing anything. I did my homeworks when I feel like it. Knowing my teachers won't ask for it, I didn't rush. Homeworks are only for me to keep with school this semester.
As soon New Avengers Facilities came into my sight, I felt my heart race. The yard and the buildings alone made me feel intimidated yet amazed. They were so huge and sophisticated, though sophisticated was out of place to describe them because these was not White House. From afar, I could see hangars, where S.H.I.E.L.D agents doing physical training around the hangars, and open field I didn't know the functions...yet. This was my first time Dad brought me here and I hope when Summer vacation ended, Dad wouldn't mind bringing me here again.
He parked the car wherever he wanted - to be specific, at the front door made of metal. We both turned and he helped me to get my crutchers at the back seat.
"You okay?"
I nodded. "Yeap, I am alright," I said, positioning myself to my right and opened the door. I turned, leaving my legs dangling outside the car as I carefully brought the crutchers out before I pushed myself up. "Phew!" I sighed, hopped twice to the left and closed the door.
Dad laughed as he stood a few inches away from me, watching me with his hands inside his trousers. It looked as if he was glowing even though his face appeared crinkles of depression.
I blew the strands of hair that fell in front of my face, then looked at Dad, puzzled. "What?"
"You're so cute," he squealed to himself. "Now, come on. We're having a meeting right now."
"Right now?" I frowned and I hopped as quick as possible to catch up with Dad. "But Secretary Ross?"
Dad pursed his lips, lifting his hand up and looked at the time. "He's coming in 3... 2... 1...." Just then, I heard cars driving up the gravel road into the yards. I turned and saw two SUVs in front and behind a Chevrolet. They were black, and their cars were just as shiny as Dad's. They stopped behind Dad's car with a screech as if they weren't ready to stop.
I stood beside Dad, watching them in awe. I didn't know what I was amazed by actually, but maybe because of the fact I was about to meet Mr. Secretary. He didn't do anything to me. I wasn't a fan of politics, but I found myself shaking to meet him. In a blur, I watched his bodyguard opening the car's door for him. Standing tall with pride, chest puffing out as if his aura was not antimidated enough. He approached Dad and I.
"Secretary Ross," Dad greeted, taking out his hand to shake.
"Mr. Stark," he greeted back and they shook hands.
"Please," Dad then said once they retrieved back their hands, "meet my daughter, Terri."
"Hello, Miss Stark. Pleasure to meet you."
"Hi." We shook hands. "The pleasure is mine, sir." I smiled at him. Although his moustache was covering his mouth, but I could catch a glimpse of his smile by the movement of his moustache.
Without wasting anymore time, we entered the main building through the metal door. Dad and Secretary Ross walked in front and talking while I followed them close behind, looking around the place in amazement. If I knew the Facilities was as nice as this, I would've followed to live with Dad rather than with Mom. Even though the place looks boring, but as I continued following the men in front of me and entered a wide area, I felt like I'm in heaven.
