Robbie woke up yawning. He was still tired of the former day, but immediately he remembered what had happened: He had kissed Cat after listening to Tori and Andre's song and then she had ran away as he was used to it.

At once he became disappointed again. He considered staying in the bed, but he knew that would just make him even more depressed, so he forced himself to get up and take Rex out of his drawer.

Rex screamed at him as he had expected, because Robbie hadn't taken him out for weeks. Robbie apologized, but Rex was sulky.

Not getting Cat out of his mind, Robbie sighed and sat down on the bed to think about what to do. He moved Rex's head as if he would notice Robbie's depressed mood. "What's up, nerd?", he made him say. Robbie glared at his puppet and argued "I'm not a nerd!", but Rex sarcastically replied: "Sure."

Robbie stared down at the floor and wished Cat was with him, squealing as always and just telling him anything totally unnecessary, but it would make him laugh. She was the only one who could always make him smile, no matter how down he was.

Robbie was all depressed and unhappy with himself and his life, but when Cat was with him, nothing mattered. It was only them together and he felt so warm and happy, so much more than with any other girl. Even though he would take any girl of course, because he was glad if any one wanted to be his girlfriend. But he would always prefer her, for sure.

"Thinking bout girls again?", Rex asked. "Why don't you just accept the fact that no one wants you?" "How would you know?", Robbie wanted to know. "Everyone can see! When you pass girls, they whisper things like 'Oh, did you see that nerd?' or 'Wow, that guy looked nerdy' or..."

"Shut up", Robbie interrupted. "What was that, nerd?" "Shut up!" This time Robbie screamed and put Rex back into the drawer. "See you", he said and closed it before Rex could have responded. Then Robbie sat on his bed again and sadly stared at the wall right in front of him.

Cat had been lying on the couch in her nona's living room all night and had been thinking about her relationship to Robbie.

A part of her hated herself for running away when Robbie had kissed her and wanted to be back there on the table with him. But, unfortunately, there was also another part, that said it was strange and wrong to date him and she would be lost without him as her best friend.

She didn't know what to do and her head hurt from thinking and crying, but she didn't feel like standing up. Her blanket was pulled up to her head, almost completely covering her face, and in front of her eyes was lying her purple stuffed giraffe, which she was holding with both of her hands and was all wet of her crying on it.

When her Nona eventually came into the living room, Cat hadn't moved on the couch, but was still sobbing and crying into her stuffed giraffe. Not hearing her cry nor suspecting her still lying under her blanket, her Nona screamed her granddaughter's name, but Cat didn't answer. She didn't want to talk to anyone but Robbie. She wanted to hug him close and cry into his shirt. The only problem was he was the reason why she cried.

Her nona went into the kitchen to make tea and worried about Cat. Where could she be? She didn't hope she had went to any boy after the party at her school, because she had to care for her while her parents were in Idaho with her brother and didn't want her to be pregnant or something.

When the tea was ready, Nona put the teabag out of the cup and into the trash can. She was just about to take a sip, when she noticed the blanket on the couch was thicker than usually. She went closer to it, examining the couch and recognizing Cat lying there, hidden under the blanket and her stuffed giraffe.

"Cat?", Nona asked wondering. Cat took her stuffed giraffe away from her eyes and Nona was shocked as she saw how red and swollen they were from crying. "Cat! Oh my God, what happened?", Nona screamed, putting the cup of tea down on the small table in front of the couch, and sat next to her granddaughter.

Cat didn't answer. She just snivelled and kept crying, but as she saw the worried look on her Nona's face, she felt the need to tell her about everything. Unfortunately, she couldn't bring out a word, so she just sat up, pulled her blanket down to her hips and hugged her nona hard.

Nona held her and stroked her back. What had she been through that she cried so much? Cat didn't want to stop hugging her Nona and snivelled, crying all over the elderly's blouse. "Cat, what's the matter?", Nona kept asking and Cat let go of her sobbing. "I-I just...", she started stuttering, still a few tears running down her cheeks.

Nona took a tissue from the table and dropped Cat's tears away. "I don't... know what t-to do.", she finished a little less stuttering and Nona stared at her very worriedly. "About what?", she finally wanted to know. Cat sobbed again and sighed shortly, before she answered: "About... my best friend. He's in love with me and..." "And that's strange", Nona continued for Cat.

Cat nodded, still sobbing. "Yesterday he... he was also at the Cow Wow... and first he was there with another girl. That made me a little jealous, cause he's mine, okay?" Nona stared at her raising an eyebrow but nodding. "So I wanted to make him jealous too, dancing with another guy. But this guy kicked my head, so I fainted."

Her nona looked irritated. "So... what happened about that guy?", she asked. "He came to me and stayed with me while our friends performed a new self-written song... and... eventually..." Cat made a short brake and her Nona was waiting. "He kissed me", Cat finished, sighing deeply and looking down at the blanket on her legs.

"Oh sweetheart", Nona began, "here, have some tea." She took the cup from the table and reached it to Cat, who thanked her sighing and drank a little. "I know this situation is really confusing right now. But it seems to me as if you were also in love with him, aren't you?", Nona asked. "With Robbie?", Cat asked, taking another sip. "Well... if that's the name of your best friend." "Yeah." Cat smiled thinking of having fun with him.

"So, are you in love with him?", Nona repeated and Cat stared at her confusedly. "I-I don't... know... maybe... yes", she just stuttered. "Then you should tell him!", Nona said a little too enthusiastic and made Cat flinch.

She looked into her nona's eyes. "That's the problem...", she began sadly. "I don't know if I can lose him as my best friend. We've been best friends for so long... that's..." "No easy decision", Nona continued for Cat again, who squeezed: "Stop!" "Stop what?", Nona asked confusedly. "Stop finishining my sentences!"

Nona apologized. "You know what makes you get a clear head?", she asked. "What?", Cat wanted to know. "Riding your sweet pink bicycle. You could ride around the town a little to become able to think straight", Nona suggested smiling.

"I don't know", Cat started, "I don't really feel like going outside." "But I won't let you sit here on the couch all day", Nona replied. "It's okay, I was gonna lie anyway, under my blanket and crying into Mr. Purples." Nona sighed when Cat said this. "I won't let you lie here either."

"But Nona", Cat started whining, but her Nona interrupted her. "You're gonna go outside for at least half an hour, I promise it will help." Cat sighed. "Okay, maybe you're right." She reached the half-full cup to her Nona and stood up. Nona smiled gladly, drinking the rest of the tea and watching Cat going out and closing the door. The red-headed girl dropped away her last tears and took a little breath, before she put on her helmet and sat on her bike to ride around the town.
