AJ grew up with her mom in a small town in New York. She got kicked out of seven schools in six years mostly due to her fighting with other kids.
Money was always tight and her mother was working two jobs at the same time. Every year was the same routine, she would head off to another school, while her mother tried to raise enough money for food. A satyr showed up at her school and took her to Camp Half-Blood.
