Ethan’s POV.
I watched as Becca and Aidan left down their trail. I hope that this trip shows them that they care about each other. I know Aidan doesn’t want to admit it but he had always liked Becca as more than just a friend even a really good friend but they had been at odds for so long that it is hard for either of them to see it. I looked at Scott who was watching Becca and Aidan too. The way he was looking at Becca kind of surprised me, it was like he liked her.
‘What are you staring at?’ I asked sounding a bit harsher than I had intended, his head snapped from looking at Becca to looking at me,
'um nothing.' He said really quickly looking away 'we should get going.' He said heading for our trail
We walked for a while down the trail.
I think that Scott has a thing for Becca. I can see it in the way that he looks at her. Its almost the way he looks at Alison .I don't know if our is a good or bad thing she seems to like him too.
we came top this cliff at the edge of the woods that looked out atty the ocean.
'how about stop here for a bit?' Scott asked bit seeming sure of himself
'Scott do youlike Becca? I asked he looked shocked that I asked.
'um she's cool,' he said shrugging
I felt this sharp pain in my chest them along my spine. I gripped my chest leaning up against a near by tree. Aidan's hurt that I knew.
'are you alright?' Scott asked coming closer.
'Aidan is hurt.' I said running pod on the direction they were in.
Becca's POV
'come on Becca' Aidan said iteratively at me as I gaped at him. He was nuts if he thought that I would do this.
We had left the lake about an got ago and that first thong that we needed was at the top of a hill that had a narrow path that dropped straight down
I have an immense fear of falling and have since I was little I fell out of my tree house and broke my arm it healed like two hours later but still. By the looks of that trail falling wasn’t a far stretch of the imagination.
‘there has to be another way up there.’ I said letting out my own frustrated sigh.
‘Becca this is the fastest way. Why are you being so stubborn?’ he asked.
‘its in my nature.’ I mocked. Reminding hi of something that he did along time ago. He glared at me a gave him a what are you going to do look back. Sighing again he ran a hand threw his really short hair.
‘Becks I wont let you fall.’ he said using my nickname. I gave him a funny look, I have been Becca and only Becca to him since we started fighting almost four years ago. Not to mention the strange safe feeling that I got from him after he said it.
I looked at him then at the trail behind him, I let out a sigh, ‘okay.’ I said starting up the trail. I could tell that he was surprised that I was go with this he wasn’t far behind me. It wasn’t s bad as I thought. Aidan had passed me and was now leading. I looked out on to the horizon the view of the forest we were in was beautiful I could see the town if I looked hard enough. Some thing about this view was familiar but I’m drawing a blank to why it is.
We were about three fourths of the way up the trail which looked about a fifty off of the ground. when Aidan stopped abruptly in front of me causing me to run in to his back.
‘Did you hear that?’ he asked tensing up and looking around us.
‘hear what?’ I asked looking at him confused. He turned around and looked at me. He looked like he was listening to something very hard. His eyes widened like he knew what the sound was.
‘Becca watch out.’ he said reaching towards me as the ground that I was standing on gave out under my feet. I tried grabbing his hand but couldn’t reach him I know closing your eyes when your falling only makes it worse but I didn’t want to see what was happening around me.
I felt a pair of arms wrap around me puling my really close to them I knew it had to be Aidan because there was no one else around. my heart was pounding really fast and it felt like my body was shutting down that’s when I blacked out.
When I opened my eyes we weren’t falling anymore. Aidan had hit the ground first and I landed on top of him. We were chest to chest so I could see his face he looked like the fall had knocked him out. I put hands on the ground along with my feet and tried to push myself off of him because I knew he had to be in a lot of pain he probably broke at leasr half of the bones in his body. There was an extreme pain in my left wrist and fore arm like it was broken.
‘Becca stop moving.’ Aidan protested groaning in pain.
‘Sorry.’ I said giving up my effort to move.
‘Are you okay?’ he asked opening his eyes and looking at me he chocolaty brown eyes were full of concern like he didn’t are that he was hurt.
‘other than my wrist hurting Im fine. Are you okay?’ I asked
‘I will be when I’m done healing.’ he said letting out a painful sigh.
‘Thank you.’ I said looking at him
‘For what?’ he sort of snaped at me.
‘ for catching me when I fell.’ I said looking away from him. I heard his heart beat pick up but I don’t know if its anger or pain. I heard foot steps crashing threw the woods like a heard of deer. Ethan probably coming to see of Aidan is okay.
Ethan broke threw the tree line. With Scott hot on his heels. The stopped and looked at us for a second beore coming up to us.
‘Are you okay?’ Ethan asked to both of us. I nodded
‘lift her off carefully’ Aidan asked. Ethan and Scott didn’t hesitate to lift me off Scott inspected me for frurter damage while Ethan helped Aidan heal.
‘What happened?’ Ethan asked sounding like he expected us to be fighting.
‘the path up the cliff broke and Becca was going to fall.’ Aidan said sitting up with sharp breaths because of the pain. Ethan looked at me I nodded in agreement with Aidan’s story.
‘so you two haven’t been fighting?’ he asked like he didn’t believe that we could.
‘We havent even been talking.’ I said as Scott wrapped my arm. It was healing I could feel it but he still insisted on wrapping it just incase.
‘really?’ he asked.
‘yes now will you stop asking!?’ Aidan snapped at him.
‘okay.’ Ethan said looking Scott then at me.
‘how about the four of us camp here tonight then we will head towards the destination tomorrow?’ Scott asked giving m back my arm. Ethan and Aidan stared at him like he was doing something wrong but nodded to his question. I helped set up tents and gather fire wood so we didn’t get cold. It was easy to start the fire since it was all dry wood. I had packed marshmallows because it is a camping staple and roasted them before going to bed.
