"do you normally eat twice as much everyday?"
"i guess," haejin shrugged. "food is good."
"it is," jimin stared at her as she ate her second plate of cake. being the gentleman he is, jimin offered to pay fo the first one as the peace offering, but the second one got turned down and haejin paid for it as she wanted. "you know, i'm surprised that you're still that thin even if you eat that much."
haejin looked up to him, her cheeks puffy. she gulped it all down and said, "i hear that alot."
jimin chuckled.
"i'm sorry." he added.
"hm?"
"for you know," he scratched his head sheepishly. "hitting you with the ball."
"i thought you already did?" haejin pointed towards the cake and the cup of macchiato.
"that's part of it," jimin nodded.
"oh, sweet, a bonus then." haejin smiled but soon cut short by the sound of her notification going off. she pulled out her phone and read the name of the sender, which caught her off guard.

"another one?" haejin read the text in disbelief.
"what's wrong?" jimin asked.
haejin waved it off as she placed her phone back in her pocket, "minor conflict."
jimin nodded, sipping on his drink. "friend?"
"you could say that."

haejin was spaced out, staring out the window as she waited for school to end which was about in twenty minutes. thankfully enough, the teacher was out.
"wow, ahn haejin is actually not eating candy in class?" nari sniggered. "isn't that a first?"
"what happened?" yohan stopped writing and turned to her.
"i think sooji desperately wants to be my friend," haejin muttered. "i don't even know how she got my number."
yohan and nari looked at each other, giving a knowing look.
"what would you do if," nari licked her lips in anticipation. "if a girl, you know, had the hots for you?"
"for me?" haejin repeated, flabbergasted.
"yeah," yohan nodded. "what are you gonna do?"
"wait, wait, wait," haejin held her hand up. "where the hell are these questions coming from?"
"i'm just saying." nari shrugged. haejin lowered her hand slowly, looking at nari skeptically.
"do you..possibly.." haejin slowly voiced out in a cautious voice.
"what?" nari looked at her quizically.
"no, nevermind." haejin sighed and shook her head.
"tell me," nari urged her with a look.
"look, i don't want to ruin our friendship with a simple question."
"what kind of question would that be?" yohan snorted.
haejin contemplated before nodding. "alright."
"go on."
"choi nari, do you.." haejin leaned closer to the both of them. "have the hots for me?"
silence.
chatters among the students were only heard in the background, but silence only ensued within them. nari looked at her, clearly dumbfounded while yohan was stunned.
"...what?" was the only thing that came out of nari's mouth.
"see, i told you it wouㅡ"
"what the fucㅡ" yohan bursted into a boisterous laughter, earning looks from his fellow classmates.
"no, i-i don't," nari stuttered, stupefied by the situation. yohan still laughed, tears slowly appearing from the corner of his eyes.
"then what the hell were those questions for?"
"because someone else likes you, you dumbass!" nari yelled in a whisper kind of way.
"you could've told me that earlier instead of playing twenty questions with me," she sighed and turned to yohan whose head was down on the table, his back shaking, clearly laughing. "did you choke on a dick or what?"
