haejin couldn't help but feel unnerved by the situation. after jimin had dragged her off abruptly, they were now inside an isolated tent. standing in front of her, he was staring at her with a cheeky smile. she couldn't help but narrow her eyes at him. this boy was scheming something again in his mind, she thought.
she broke the silence after a few seconds. "don't do that," she gestured to his expression. "it's never up to no good."
his grin grew wider instead, his crescent-like eyes forming. "you know i'm representing for my class, right?"
"in terms of looks? oh yeah, definitely." she nodded casually, but jimin just chuckled.
"no, silly. i'm talking about the race! yohan's in it too, remember?"
haejin nodded. "what about it?"
"well, there's something i want to get out of this competition this year," he stated. " i know i'll be more motivated if youㅡ you know, gave me an award or something."
there was a mischievous glint in his eyes that made her raise a brow. what was he hinting at now?
"a prize?" she repeated, earning a nod from him. "like what? a buy one get one free ice-cream popsicle?" she joked, but jimin simply gave a smile again and shook his head.
sheepishly, jimin softly touched his lips and said, "you."
the girl blinked. lips? her? oh, she definitely wasn't dense enough to not know what he was hinting at. haejin unconsciously bit her lips as he ears started to heat up. this was bringing back memories she was shy about.
jimin took her red-tipped ears as a sign of yes and grinned, enjoying her flustered state. "well, for the cheering portion, i don't expect that much since we're both in different classes but i'm still hoping. after all, i'm gonna make sure i'll win the race."

"hey, ahnjin," yohan waved over to the girl. "what took so long?"
"yeah, where did you and lover boy go?" nari raised a brow, nudging the girl with a suggestive smile. " don't tell me you two finally took a step up in your relationship? oh, is that a lipstick smudge i seeー"
"idiot, you know i don't wear makeup," she deadpanned, ignoring nari's racy joke. "and it wasn't much. he just wanted to talk about the race today."
"oh? what about it?" yohan chimed in.
haejin's lips parted to respond, before she closed it back for a second. jimin's bold bet was enough to trigger a reaction from her as she coughed, resisting to show any flustered signs.
