"i can't believe i got a freaking invite on a weekend,"haejin muttered. "from sooji. again."

here haejin was, watching running man with her brother whose temper finally decreased. she was just happy that her brother wasn't too hostile today, but, was soon ruined by a surprise.

"what am i gonna do?" she muttered, staring at the message in panic.

sooji : sunbae, there's a chicken place down by my block. wanna come with? :)

ps. there's also a binocular shop right up front!

she hesitated for a second before allowing her fingers to type.

me: sorry sooji :( i'm quite busy today

sooji : what for?

"shoot, what am i gonna do?" haejin turned to her brother. "hey, deokhwa. wanna go somewhere today?"

"with you? no thanks." he said between chuckles, his gaze still on the tv.

"come on, noona will buy you something," she cooed.

"then can you buy me chicken from that new place?" deokhwa asked as he glanced at her.

"t-there?" why did it have to be there? out of all places he could've chosen, he had to choose the one that was nearby sooji's?

"yeah," he nodded. "if you don't, then i don't want anything else."

haejin groaned and gave up on his hopeless brother. she tried to text the only two people she hung out with but got shot down.

haejin was on the verge of giving up when krystal's etude commercial with yoo kyunsang played. that's when an idea got to her. she grabbed her phone once again, but realized, she didn't have his phone number.

"shoot," she muttered in embarrassment. "i have to call yohan again."

she dialed his number and waited nervously.

"helllo?"

"kang yohan!"

"what?"

"i have a small request i need to ask," i nervously fiddled with my shirt.

"what?"

"i, uh," i sighed deeply before speaking again. "do you have...jimin's number?"

the line went quiet for a few seconds before a small chuckle resonated my ears.

"yeah, i got you."

i sighed in relief. "thanks."

+++++

haejin was nervously waiting outside the mall.

"do i even look okay?" she muttered to herself as she looked down on her outfit. a plain white button up with an oversized tortilla brown cardigan over a pair of ripped jeans with short brown leathered platform shoes. they weren't heels, take note.

she remembered the conversation she had with sooji before and sighed.

;;;;

me: i'm going on a date with jimin

sooji: oh

sooji: well, where to?

me: jimin's surprise :)

haejin felt her toes cringe.

sooji: that's so nice of him

sooji: you mind sending me pictures? i'd like to see a nice picture of a cute couple

that was when she felt surprised. surely, if one was really stubborn to unveil something, they wanted evidence.

"hey, deokhwa,"

"what?"

"what if you asked to take a picture of something from a friend and they don't take it, but they say it's true. what do you do?" haejin sipped on her drink nonchalantly, glancing at the boy at times.

"what do you mean?"

"if they said that, i don't know, they met yoona and took a picture with them and you wanted proof."

"obviously," deokhwa sighed. "they're lying. i mean, if they can't send that picture, then anyone would obviously doubt them."

;;;;

"haejin-ah!"

she turned to see jimin, walking towards her with a smile, his eyes slowly disappearing and turning into crescent slits.

from a cheap fashion perspective, jimin's outfit was casual yet still classy. how was it that whenever haejin wore something that was fancy, it always ended with her walking awkwardly, as if she was a newborn fawn.

as soon as jimin got closer, he grinned slightly.

"do i look like a perfect boyfriend material?"

just his smile alone was enough to catch the attention of female passersby who were also turning back to sneak a peek again

just his smile alone was enough to catch the attention of female passersby who were also turning back to sneak a peek again. surely, haejin would've done the same secretly.

"you look," haejin held out a thumbs up. "like what you just said."

jimin chuckled. "still awkward?"

"no, just not used to those words," haejin mused. "yeah, just not used to it."
