Cassandra's Point of View;
"MOM!"
I shouted at the top of my lungs, my voice hollering. It was nearly 1 o' clock in the afternoon and I'm all dressed up, ready to go.
"Cass, Honey?" Mom walked out to the front door, her messy hair tied up, still wearing her night clothes and looks stressed out. She looks like a typical person who just woke up.
"Alis na po ako, Ma." I gave her a smile. "Don't worry, I brought my own house keys. Tsaka, don't stress yourself in work ha? May date pa tayo bukas."
"Of Course, anak." Mom chuckled, placing her right hand on her hips. "Lakad na, hinihintay ka na ni Sandro."
"MOM!" I gave her a playful frown, "Correction, Simon."
"Oo na." Mom rolled her eyes. "Say hi to Tita Louise and Tito Bong for me, okay? Tell them that I'll come on Saturday. Bye na, anak."
Mom kissed me on the cheek and I rushed out of the house. Since I don't have my own car yet, I need to commute.
-----After a few minutes, I finally arrived at the Marcos' residence. They have been a really close family friend to our family since I was young, and Tito Bong's sons have been my playmates. Kaya siguro medyo boyish ako, puro boys ang playmates ko noon. Haha.
"Hi Tito Bong, Tita Louise." I gave both of them a hug, nagmano naman ako kay Lola Meldy. They all greeted me a good afternoon and I did too.
"Tito, si Simon po?" I politely asked Tito Bong. The elders are all in the living room, gathered around the couch watching TV.
"Ah, they're all upstairs hija. Puntahan mo na. Kanina ka pa nila gustong makita."
The boys are just here for their two-month vacation. All of them are studying in London since I was eight. Kaya tuwing summer lang kami nagkikita-kita.
"Hay, finally, ate Cass." Vincent opened the door. "You came!"
"Ate Cass, you owe me a caramel frap and a blueberry cheesecake for showing up late." Simon stucked his tongue out at me, I laughed at him and told him that I'll get him sometime.
"Oo na guys, so, why did you guys call me pala?" I raised at eyebrow at the two of them.
"Um, kuya Sandro wants to go to the mall but doesn't know if there's a mall near our place so.."
Simon trailed off when the bathroom door opened.
Sandro came out instantly, a towel hanging dangerously around his hips and his hair wet and tousled. His abs were on view and so is his.. wait. Stop.
"Oh, Cass. Admit it na. Pinagnanasahan mo 'ko." Sandro gave me a smirk. "I might melt."
"Tse! Never in a million years, Alexander. You're still so yabang." I scoffed. Simon and Vincent snorted.
"Defensive." Simon nudged me and whispered to me jokingly.
"Tigilan nyo 'ko ah." I laughed half-heartedly. "Alright, so If you guys wanna go to the mall, you should dress pretty decent."
Simon and Vincent looked at their clothes and shook their heads at me.
"That's the thing, we aren't going." Simon confirmed. "You and kuya Sands are the only ones going."
What? No, no, no.
"You can't make me go with Alexander." I whispered to them. "You guys both know that we hate each other."
"That's the thing ate Cass." They both laughed. "We will send you guys alone time so that you two can make up."
That'll only make things worse.
With nothing to do, I just sighed and gave in. Sandro came out of his room, his hair styled up, like he typically does, and surprisingly not wearing one of those red polo shirts he always wear. Instead, he wore white pants, a white shirt and a blue polo.
"Finally, the hobo wore new clothes." I tried annoying him. "Akala ko isang pulang polo shirt lang damit mo."
"Excuse me," Alexander rolled his eyes. "I have dozens of red polo shirts. Which means, they're all clean."
"Spell pikon, Alexander." I laughed at him. "Annoying you is clearly entertaining."
"Hindi ako pikon. So, shut up ka nalang Cass." Alexander scoffed at me and went downstairs. "Let's go."
I followed him downstairs, to the kitchen where he got his shades and car keys and to the living room. Tito Bong and Tita Louise are not there, so is Mama Meldy. I think they're already in their rooms, resting.
"Where's Simon and Vincent?" Alexander asked me.
"They're not coming."
"What?!" His eyes widened. "Don't tell me that I'm stuck with a pikon like you."
"May ganyan ka pang nalalaman." I rolled my eyes. "Just get in the car, owl."
-----
The car ride is silent and the atmosphere is awkward. As in. Well, Alexander and I are not close, even though we have the same age.
"Hey, put your seat belt on." Alexander says, his eyes still on the road as he said so.
"No." I looked at him and frowned, sitting up straight and crossing my arms. "You aren't my Dad to tell me what to do."
"Put your seatbelt on, or else."
Ha! He even tried to threaten me, hindi mo ako madadaan sa ganyan, Ferdinand Alexander Marcos III. Makuha ka sa tingin.
But there he is, looking over me, while driving like a vice, the car engine speeding off as he run through a red light, which almost made me fly off my seat.
Buti nalang, nahawakan ko agad yung braso niya.
"Huy, get your shit straight! You almost ran the red light, idiot." I sternly told him.
"Almost? I did." He chuckled. "That's how cool I am."
"The police might see you, umayos ka. Pano kung mapahamak ka?"
"Uy, concerned sya." Alexander smirked at me for the bazillionth time. Okay, I get it. Mayabang ka. End of story.
"Of course! I am concerned about your car! It's a Range Rover, a valuable one. Assuming ka nanaman e."
"Whatever you say panget." Alexander sighed. "Should I turn right?"
"Yeah, turn right then when you reached the gasoline station, turn left. The mall isn't that far away."
