Chapter 8: A Year Already

Michaels **POV** 

Sky turned back around to face me, the first thing I saw were her beautiful gren/blue eyes. The way they shone was amazing my gaze slipped down to her lips. They were clean she had listen to me when I told her not to put any lipstick on. They looked so soft. I just wanted to seize the moment and lean forward and kiss her. 

Agghh what was I thinking! She's your best friend, your not meant to be thinking about those kinds of things just stop Michael. Sky suddenly looked away and started searching through her bag I knew what she was looking for right away. Her iPod. When ever she was nervous or uncomfortable she would use it to escape back in to her own little world of quirky and small bands. She couldn't find it and I could tell she was getting frustrated. I reached over and took her bag off her. She turned to face me and I shot her a smile. I calmly started going through her backpack until I found her iPod. I handed her bag back to her. As she placed her bag on the floor and I unlocked her iPod and went in to her music to see what she was listening to last. 

She had it on her calming list. It was full of All Time Low, Hero's For Hire, Short Stack, Sleeping With Sirens, Forever Ends Here, For Our Hero, The Never Ever.  God I no this girl too well. I pressed now playing and saw it was on 'Beside You', my favorite song off our EP and her favorite song. Sky noticed that I was going through her music and snatched her iPod back. I looked at her headphones. 

“Really?"I asked pointing at them.

"What I got board so I decided to color them in."Sky answered. They we're painted rainbow. There was pink, purple, green, orange, red, yellow and 3 different types of blue. Sky put her headphones in and pressed play, she lent her head back resting it against the back of the seat. Slowly humming to the music. With out even realizing what I was doing I started checking her out. I looked up and saw Luke had been and still was watching me. I looked down and blushed. He got up and quickly moved to the empty spot next to me.

"Hey man"I said

"Dude could you make it anymore obvious"He laughed

"What?"I asked confused

"Really? Come on its so obvious that you like Skylar"Luke said.

"I-I-I don't."Nice Michael a stutter he'll really believe you now.

"Really? Come on man your always looking at her and complimenting her and taking any chance you can get to spend time with her."Luke said to me. Damn he was right.

"Is it that obvious?"I asked quietly.

"Yeah man"Luke replied

"So you think Sky know's then"I asked but it came out more like a statement. 

"Dude she don't know yet. But you know why.....it's cause she's to busy loving you."Luke said. I was shocked. 

"S-s-he l-likes -me"I stammered

"Oh god"Luke said rolling his eyes.

"What was your first clue. Was it the way she looks at you or was it maybe the way she laughs at everything you says, or how about how she blushes really and I mean really badly when you complement her or how abo..."I cut Luke off

"Yeah, I get the point Luke"I said still shocked

"Make your move man. Before its too late"Luke said 

“Did you not just quote one of our song?" I said seriously. 

"Its true though" He shrugged his shoulders as he got up. I couldn't believe it. No Luke must be wrong.

I looked up at Sky. She still had her eyes shut. I lied back next to her and stole one of her headphones. She was listening to 'Somewhere in Neverland' by All Time Low.

I took her hand and started drawing little circles on it with my finger. She didn't pull away she just sat there and let me. I looked up at her face and saw a single tear escape her eye.

"Sky what's wrong?"I asked sitting up, everyone looked at us. 

"What oh. I was just ah thinking."She said looking away to wiping the tear. Tia suddenly gasped 

"What?"Amber said to Tia

"T-today's the 1 year anniversary of your families death isn't it?"Tia asked. 

Sky slowly nodded in response I noticed another tear slid down her cheek. I pulled her into a hug. She wrapped her arms tightly around me in return. 

"Hey, you know i'll never leave you. None of us will"I whispered to her. 

"Thanks Michael."

For the rest if the ride I had my arm around Sky and she had her head resting on my chest. We were both listening to her music.

20 minutes later we had arrived.

"You nervous?" I asked taking Sky's hand 

"A little"She replied

"Liar"I said poking her

"Well if I keep telling myself it I might just believe it."She replied

"And how's that working for you?"I asked 

"Not to well at the moment."She replied 

"Don't worry you'll be amazing."I told her

"Thanks"Sky said looking down I lifted her chin  so she was looking in to my eyes. She was blushing. It was so cute.

"Sky I-I love you"I stammered. I can't believe that I just said that.

"Not just as your friend but as something more"I continued. I didn't know what I had expected Sky's expression to be but I was preparing for the worst.

"I love you too Michael"Sky said looking right into my eyes. She lent in and placed a light kiss on my lips. 

Everyone looked at each other.

"So are we ready?"Leah asked

"Yeah"We all responded 

"Let's go then"Leah yelled. We all walked in together. There were so many people here. 

Even I was beginning to fell extremely nervous and I wasn't even the one auditioning! It turned out that the girls had been placed in to a new category called "Wild Card", and they were the last people to audition, so we had to spend the whole day waiting for the girls audition and it was agonizing. We found a spot on the floor and sat together. We spent the day playing on our phones, talking and the girls practiced a bit. The girls even got asked to do an interview. 

Finally it was time for the girls to audition. We all walked back stage. I noticed Sky was shaking a little so I grabbed her hand. She looked to me and smiled. Eventually we got to the area where we had to wait for the girls while they auditioned. We had a few minutes before they went on. I looked over at sky and saw her by herself she looked really nervous. I walked over to her.

"Hey, you's have been practicing for a whole year."I said trying to calm her

"Umm try 6 months remember I've only been singing for 6”She corrected

"Oh right, but you'll still be amazing. Just close your eyes and imagine we're all at your 

place just playing Singstar or something. Or that we're all at school under our tree singing as a group."I said trying to help. The girls got called on.

"Thanks Michael I'll try"Sky said she gave me one last kiss, her lip were do cool and soft against mine. As the girls walked on stage she turned around I gave me one last wave. The guys and I all huddled together to watch the screen with the host guy.
