I Don't Really Care Anymore

Hey guys. Before you read this next chapter I just want to say that I'm going to be doing Point of Views (POV). Oh and one more thing, nobody knows about Shelby's depression in the past.

*Alex's POV*
"I did it!! I finally asked Cayla out. And she said yes." I thought in my head.
Oliver and I walked home. While we were walking, we started talking. The conversation went something like this:
The both of us walked out if the house.
"So what are you gonna do now?" I asked Oliver.
"Uhm. I don't know. Probably just talk to Shelby. How bout you?" Oliver said.
"I'm not sure too. I asked Cayla out, but now that we're going out, I don't know how to act around her." I said.
"Haha. Don't worry. Just be yourself. It was like that with Shelby and I. I mean, I noticed her when she first walked into my Language Arts class. Eh, we talked, I was so shy just to talk to her, and once I asked her out, it was way different, but, we got used to one another. And one day, I don't know why I did it, but I....... I cheated on her. And, I broke her heart. Shelby told me I was her first high school boyfriend. Hah, look at me, still trying to earn her trust back. Point is, you don't know what you got until its gone." Oliver said.
And that statement really made me think. I had Shelby, and then I acted like a complete ass in front of her. I flirted and led her on and one day, bam! I lost her. I really don't know how I feel about her. Did I do this to make her jealous? Do I still like her? Does she still like me? I could tell by Oliver's voice that he truly cared about Shelby. And Shelby seems really into him. But there's something about Shelby that I can't get over. I cannot stop thinking about how all of this could've been done so much better. Maybe I'll try to talk to her.
*Shelby's POV*
Oliver and Alex walked out of the house. Cayla and I cleaned up and went to bed. My bed is huge! We had so much space to sprawl out. Cayla and I washed our face and brushed our teeth and laid down. I was under the blankets. Looking up at my ceiling. Wondering what Alex was doing. "Cayla?" I asked
"Hmm?" Cayla responded all sleepy.
"How do u feel about Oliver and I being back together?" I said.
"Honestly," Cayla said Turing towards me, "I'm glad that you two are a couple again. I mean yeah he broke your heart and I was the one to pick up the pieces, but it's really refreshing to see my best friend smile and be happy again." Cayla said.
"Aww thanks Cay. You da best!" I said as I turned toward her so now were both face-to-face.
"You know I am!" Cayla said.
"How do you feel about Alex and I?" She asked.
"Well, at first, I was sad but like kinda mad. Only because Alex led me on and flirted first day of school, but once I knew that you two had a connection, and he makes you smile, then I was willing to accept him as your boyfriend." I said
"Aww Shelby, you're so sweet."
I just smiled. I tucked my hair inside my shirt and while I did that, Cayla noticed something.
"What's that?!!!" Cayla said quite loudly.
"What's what?" I asked "confusing" when really I knew what she was talking about. I put my arms back under the blanket.
"Shelby, that better not be what I think it is!!!" Cayla yelled
I turned away from her. "It's nothing Cayla, just, drop it, I'm fine, it's nothing." I said.
"IT IS NOT NOTHING SHELBY!!! WHAT'S GOING ON??!!!" Cayla yelled.
Tears rolled softly down my face. "Damn it, she saw it, this is the end," I thought as I sat up in bed.
"I'll tell you, only if, you promise not to tell anyone, only you know, I'll break it to everyone, when I feel the time is right. Okay?" I said to Cayla with my back still to her.
Cayla sat up and sat beside me.
"I promise Shelbs, I'll understand." Cayla said.
"It all started when...."
