Chapter 6 : Go-Karting

Selena’s POV

It was the morning after my birthday and I was still slightly tired but I was a morning person so the latest that I could sleep for is nine o’clock; everyone was now awake and having breakfast that my G’maa had prepared for everyone. Today we all agreed to go indoor Go-karting, since we hadn’t really done anything all together Go-karting seemed like a perfect thing for all of us to take part in.

We already planned what teams we would go in and I and Ashley where the captains for our teams, Louis and Zayn where on my team whilst, Harry, Liam and Louis where on Ashley’s. I, Zayn, Louis and Harry all had a very serious competitive streak in us, it didn’t matter what it was we always wanted to win.

Now that we had all finished having breakfast we went to get dressed, I opted for shorts and a peach top whilst Ashley went for her black jeans and a Rolling Stone shirt. As for the boys, they all were casual and for the first time in a long time Harry was wearing trainers. It was nice for once seeing him in something other than his brown ankle boots that he couldn’t live without.

Once we got to the indoor Go- Karting down in LA, the instructor went through all the necessary rules; once he was done with that, we all got changed into our racing gear and put our helmets on.

“May the best guy win,” Harry called out whilst kissing his muscle to suggest that his team had already won.

“Sexist much!” I spoke back as I glared at him.

“You know what I mean, but how about we make the game fun. If my team win, your team has to pay for lunch for us.”

“And if my team win, your team has to run around the track chanting Selena’s the best!” Harry and I nodded in agreement and then we went back to our teams. Due to the fact that there were only three people on my team, one of us would have to go twice and I was nominated for that.

Up first from the teams were both I and Ashley, instead of being competitive rivals and boosting our own egos, we went in for our normal hugs and did a handshake which obviously the boys had no clue about. We got into our race cars and placed our helmets on our head and got hold of the steering wheel. I had only done Go-Karting once so I wasn’t sure how well I would be, but oh well it was all fun and games. Just don’t tell Harry that I said that.

So far my team wasn’t doing as well as I thought, so far Ashley beat me in our round and Niall beat Zayn in his round. Now it was Louis and Liam who where up next. Fingers crossed Louis would win this round. As the boys started going, Liam was already ahead of Louis and I knew there was no chance of my team winning.

“Common, Lou you can do it.” I yelled towards Louis as he was driving around the tracks. Being the good team mate that I was I and Zayn started chanting Louis name to motivate him, I guess this distracted Liam because the next thing that he did, he managed to  hit a curb and it  span his Kart around . This gave Louis a big advantage , by now  Louis wasn’t too far from where Liam was and Liam was still having a hard time in figuring out how to reverse, then came Louis who speeded straight past Liam. Trust Louis to help the team, Louis was still driving and by the looks of it Liam wouldn’t be moving anytime soon.

“Louis, Louis, Louis!!” I changed louder with Zayn until Louis finally past the finishing line. Louis had given us a point so now it was two points to Ashley’s team and one point to mine. It was now the last round, and yes Liam finally was able to move thanks to the instructor who realised that Liam’s Kart was actually stuck. Because of this everyone felt to make the game fare, we should an extra round. At least we still go to keep the point that we had. Up next was Harry and Zayn, just like I had chanted for Louis, I was going to do the same with Zayn. Not to make Harry have an even bigger ego, Harry really was good at everything, he always managed to beat everyone at anything, and so winning to day would only just make things better. Anyways who likes losing all the time? I know I don’t.
