Selena’s POV
“Is this Selena Gomez that I’m speaking with?” A lady on the phone asked.
“This is she....”
“Your manager Carl gave me your number; he told me that you have been interested in getting back into acting.”
“Yes that’s right; please who am I speaking with?” Before I could even get excited I needed to know first who I was speaking with. For all you know it could be the devil and he’s trying to bargain with my soul. Ok now I’m just being dramatic.
By now everyone was silent and all eyes were focused on me.
“Who is it?” Ashley questioned as she mouthed it to me. I just shrugged my shoulders and waited for the lady to reply.
“My name is Julie Plec; I’m the producer and writer of The Vampire Diaries.”
Wo! Did she say The Vampire Diaries? Now I was nervous.
“I have seen some of your roles in numerous TV shows and I’ve noticed that you normally tend to play the good girl, may I ask why?”
“Erm, I guess it’s just a personality that I am familiar with. If I did have a chance to play a different role I would really be interested.”
“That’s perfect; I always like hearing this from actors. The reason why I’m calling you is that I feel that I have a role for you for the fifth season of the show. Do you think you would be interested?”
“Yes I would, I’m actually a fan of the show so I would defiantly be interested.”
Is this really happening now?! TVD as I like to call it is actually one of my favourite shows to watch when I’m having a chilled day out. And now the writer of the show is telling me that she has a role for me to play.
“The character that I have in mind is a high school student with an edge to her; I think you would really be a great candidate for the role. The character would also be a love interest for Steven R McQueen's character Jeremy Gilbert.
“Oh that’s amazing, I’ve met Steven a few times and he is a really nice person.”
“We were thinking if you could come down for a small meeting where we could tell you more about the role and whether you are still interested.
“Ok that sounds perfect, just one question? Will the character have any steamy scenes such as sex scenes? Sorry that I’m asking.” I was biting the bottom of my lip, chewing on the flesh. Harry and I guess everyone else noticed me being nervous.
If I took this role it could either be positive for me or not, most of my fans where quite young so I didn’t want to do anything that they wouldn’t be happy with. But at the same time I knew that TVD would defiantly be a great experience for me. Right now any Vampire show was the ‘it’ thing in Hollywood, so who was I to say no when the opportunity came along.
“Well, so far the character will only be on for a few episodes. It all depends on how the character jells with everyone else and if we see a future with the character. But since you have said you are a fan of the show, normally we try not to focus so much on the characters sex lives but being realistic as much as we can everyone has sex. I can’t guarantee that the character will be clean cut but at the same time we love having the actors input, so if you were to be uncomfortable with sex scenes then we could discuss it. What we will do, we will give you time to think about it and if you are still interested we will arrange with your manager to set up a meeting together. And if not that is fine with me. I really think this role could be a good thing for you.”
