Chapter 9

You took Undyne out and placed her on your shoulder. Alphys looked disappointed as the two were having a conversation. You put Alphys on your shoulder right by Undyne and she blushed furiously and thanked you. You continued walking until you got into the entrance of Waterfall. Somehow, Monster Kid was already there and greeted you as their eyes landed on the tiny Undyne. "Yo!!!!! Is that Undyne?? Why is she so tiny? Not that it matters though she's still cool as ever! How did you find her?? I'm so jealous!!" Undyne blushed a little bit and Monster Kid kept rambling on and on until they ran out of breath.

You took this opportunity to wave goodbye to them, and continued to Undyne's house. She started glowing as expected the closer you got. The door was locked, which was unusual since the previous houses weren't. "The key should be under the mat." You looked down and moved the mat, then picked up the shiny silver key. It fit perfectly and you entered into her house and flipped on the light. You placed Undyne on the counter and she expected to get bigger right away. "Hey! What's the holdup punk?" You put a finger on your lips to shush her while taking a tomato and placing it on the counter. You gently pet the tomato and became friends with it. Undyne and Alphys was staring at you until Undyne bust out laughing.

She grew to her normal size and her laugh was booming through out the room. "Well that was fun, nerd. Come back whenever you want to really get down to business. But first.." She picked up Alphys and gently kissed her. Alphys covered her face and started stammering incoherent words. "Finally some romance!" Mettaton had been watching the entire time and commented on how cute the two would be. Asgore was peeking out quietly and looked rather sad. You all waved goodbye to Undyne and continued into Hotland and began regretting picking the long sleeved sweater to wear. Alphys was glowing now and commented it on the strange warm feeling.

You quickly entered her lab and placed her down on the computer. You put in Mew Mew Kissy Cutie and offered to watch it with her sometime. She returned to her normal size and began stammering. "R-really? You'll watch it w-with me? O-okay! Bye, Y-Y/N, it was really f-fun!" You smiled and got out Mettaton who was already glowing and smiling. You swiftly walked through the MTT Resort and through the Core. You never realized how high up the core was until now and was even more relieved that you didn't have to fight anyone. You entered into the room where you fight him and placed him down. "Lights! Camera! Me!" The tiny Mettaton began posing as the floor rose up and led to a stage filled with lights.

You posed dramatically and followed suit with Mettaton. "Flawless, darling!" He grew to his normal size and was still posing and cat walking, though no one else was around. "See you around, beautiful." He called out to you while you exited into a hallway. You took out Asgore who looked glum and avoided eye contact. "Hey.. What's wrong?" "We've had good memories, Y/N. I hope I will not forget them, as I know now that not all humans are bad." You felt a prick in your heart knowing that they might forget you after you were done returning them.

Should I stop? I can't let them forget about me. I can't let them forget these memories we've had. You smiled and continued forward since you knew this is what they would have wanted. Asgore smiled sadly at you as he knew this was a difficult decision. You walked slowly through the judgement hall, half expecting to see Sans, but you knew better. Asgore was faintly glowing as you got closer to the garden. "Ah, this is indeed a delightful feeling." You placed him down in the flowers while a single tear escaped your eye. "I'm sorry that you ended up back underground, once again." Asgore grew fully and embraced you. "Do not be sad. I forgive them all, thanks to you." You were on the brink of sobbing but instead thanked him and shoved your hands into your pockets.

You backed up and gave him a tiny smile then walked towards the barrier room. It was already opened and the sun was close to setting. You sat down and admired the view while hugging your knees and resting your head on them. A hand rubbed your back and you glanced up to see Toriel smiling down at you, with everyone else behind her, even Mettaton.  They all smiled and waved, as did you. Finally, Toriel walked back in line with the rest of the characters and waved back to you while fading.
"W-what? You're leaving? W-w-wait! Please!" You rushed over to hug her one last time but only hugged air. You fell to your knees and sobbed while the rest of the mountain disappeared from view.
