BOYS POV

The boys are fooling around by the pool. Kota and Victor have their calves in the pool as they sit at the edge discussing whether Marvel or DC was better. Silas and North are waist deep in the pool, chatting in Greek. Luke is in a splash war with Gabriel.

Gabriel floats over to Nathan and asks, "Hey Nate, Why the hell didn't we ask Sang to join us? She lives right across the fucking street, doesn't she?"

The boys still and tune into their conversation. Nathan is lying on his back, comfortably basking in the sunlight. Rolling onto his stomach, he huffs and pushes himself off the ground.

"I already did. I don't think she's coming." He responds curtly, heading back to house. "I'll go grab some waters." The rest of the boys watch on.

Gabriel glances over to the table, filled with snacks and waters. "Oy, we already have the damn waters!" The boys shake their heads, not sure why Gabriel has to antagonize Nathan.

"I don't fucking care! I'm getting more!"

SANGS POV

I begin to climb out the window, still filled with doubt. What if this was all a cruel joke? What have you got to lose? What if I come too early, or too late? He never specified a time.

My mind had been at this fight for the past hour. I have finally managed to force myself to walk to his house at least. I stealthily walk to Nathan's house. I approach the door, unsure whether to knock or ring the doorbell. What if his parents open the door?

I clearly didn't think this through. I turn away, sure I made a mistake. The door opens.

"Sang?" Nathans face brightens. "I didn't think you were coming. Come in!" I enter his house, rubbing my forearm uncomfortably.

"To be honest, I didn't think I was coming either."

"Well I'm glad you did." Nathan winks and disappears into the house. "We're all out back." All? I hope not too many.

"Are you wearing your suit under that? Or do you need to change?" A muffled voice inquires.

"I'm not actually swimming today. I hope that's okay?" That sounded lame, even to me.

Nathan emerges with bottles of water cradled in his arms. "Sang, you are welcome to do whatever you want. Make yourself at home. You can hang from the ceilings or bounce on the sofa."

I giggle, "Won't your parents mind?" Nathans answer is short, "They would have to be here to mind." My heart stops. Is he broken, like me? I search his eyes, trying to figure out his story.

"I'm sorry Nathan. I didn't mean to dig into your life-" Nathan's finger drops down over my lips.

"It's okay Sang. No harm done. And stop apologizing for not doing anything wrong."

"Sorry?" Nathan chuckles and is soon joined by my giggles.

"Oy Nathan! Where are those motherfucking waters?" Gabe? My heart leaps. I will know another person here. The thought that they are all friends crosses my mind again, but I quickly dismiss it. I don't want to get my hopes up.

"Coming!" Nathan pads over to the sliding door leading out to a pool, holding in open for me. I step outside and my mind fails at what I see in front of me.

The water is crystal blue, the sun glinting of the surface. There are 7 hot, body sculpted boys hanging around in swim trunks, munching on food, laughing, fooling around. Being boys their age. If I were to capture this moment in a picture, I bet I would be seeing it in a magazine. It is too perfect. Maybe this is normal, and I just think it is odd.

"Oy, you brought trouble!" Gabriel bounds out of the water, scoops me up in a hug and spins in circles. I ignore the pain and try to savor this foreign embrace. My mother's words scream in my mind. Slut! Whore! This friendly hug now seems vulgar, dirty. Gabriel sets me back on my feet. "Trouble is here!"

Luke is right behind Gabriel. "Hey sugar! Fancy seeing you here." He finishes in a posh English accent, bowing dramatically low and I dissolve in giggles. As the others make their way over, I realize who they are. They are all friends. Point Sang!

I greet each of them and after time they shuffle back to what they were doing. Luke, Gabriel, and I sit with our feet dangling in the pool, my shoes and socks discarded. There is a comfortable silence between us. We can hear the laughter and the chitchat, the chirping of the birds, and the gurgling of the pool.

I lay down, legs still in the pool, and look up to the sky. Luke and Gabriel make themselves comfortable next to me. I point to a cloud, "Does that look like a cupcake to you guys?"

After a couple of hours of hanging out with the boys, I feel lighter. Happier. I have gotten to know them on a much more personal basis than at school. This friendship now feels real. We are inside watching a horror movie, most of the time keeping my head buried in Nathan's shoulder. I could have happily lived without ever seeing that.

The day of socializing leaving Sang weary, she slowly started to drift off, content.
