"So, what's going to happen?" Isaac taps my right knee with his finger twice.
I shoot him a confused look at his question and his tapping. "I'm sorry?"
Stiles glimpses in the rear view mirror to watch Isaac talk to me. He only seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. His skin has gotten paler. He appears as if he is on his deathbed, which only worries me. There's a huge chunk of the future missing in my head. The only thing I've been able to see is that long, dark hallway with Stiles, Lydia, and myself. I've only seen her through pictures and memories of everyone else.
"Tonight? What's going to happen?" Isaac tries another way to ask his question.
"I- I don't know." I shake my head, avoiding eye contact with Stiles in the rear view mirror. "All I've seen about Lydia is from a piece of Stiles' future and we're in some hallway, kind of looks industrial with huge pipes along the wall."
Scott barely twists around in the passenger seat to listen to what I have to say. His eyebrows are raised after he heard my comments. "Would you recognize it if you saw it?"
I nod, "Yeah."
"So, you don't know if we're all going to be killed tonight?" Isaac presses on for more information.
I nervously swallow, "I-I don't know- I can't see anything about where we are headed or what happens. Usually, if I press on with the future, I can see more, but there's, like, a wall in my mind. I can't see anything." I slowly meet Stiles' gaze with my lips pressed firmly together. "I'm sorry." I direct the apology towards him.
With a slight shake of his head, Stiles turns his attention back to the road. I know he's not mad at me. If anything, I can see that he doesn't want me to feel bad about not being able to see what's going to happen tonight. I lean back against the backseat of the jeep, sighing. Not being able to know what was going to happen was placing me very on edge and I didn't like it.
"I thought you were a psychic?"
I ball my fists up on my thighs. "Can you shut up for just once?" I hiss through clenched teeth.
"You heard Meredith call her a seer." Stiles defends me from the driver's seat. "And you know she doesn't like being called that, so cut it out."
Isaac seems slightly taken aback and he holds both hands up in surrender. "My bad."
Stiles nervously taps his fingers on the steering wheel. He peers over at Scott to see how worried his best friend looks. "Hey, you okay?"
Scott lifts his head up, nodding, "Yeah, yeah. You don't have to worry about me."
Isaac sighs beside me, "All right, I'll say it." He turns his head towards Stiles. "You look like you're dying. You're pale, thin, and you look like you're getting worse. And, we're all sitting here thinking it. When we find the other you, is he going to look like he is getting better- Ow!" Isaac rubs the sore spot on his arm where I roughly pinched.
The backseat is too small to actually punch him, so I put my fingernails to good use. If I had twisted any harder, I'm sure I would have drawn blood. I give him the dirtiest look I can muster. What makes him think that it's okay to say that to him? Sure, we are all thinking it. I'm completely paranoid that someone or something is blocking my sight and something is going to happen to Stiles and I won't be able to stop it.
"What happens if he gets hurt?" Scott adds a little bit nicer than how the idiot beside me did.
Stiles remains silent for a few seconds with his eyes on the road. "You mean if he dies, do I die? I don't care."
