Peaceful mornings was always something I was looking forward to. I always hung out on my front porch and watched the mist slowly rise from the dew of the grass. The peace, quiet, and the rays of dawn settling over the town, as if to welcome itself with the warmth of its light.
I loved sitting out there on the porch swing, letting the wind rock me back and forth, as if the wind were arms, cradling me gently back in forth with such soft emotion, whispering as a breeze blew gently in my ear.
I relished the sound of the crackling fire I always started with a snap of my finger in the fireplace. The fire seemed so light, so comforting. I always looked deep within the light smoke and made pictures out of it. Strangely, I sometimes saw a wolf, a stallion, or a tiger.
I adored the water that rose as mist. It dripped down the roof and landed with a soft plop on my finger. I let it slide down my finger and let the fresh rain water soak into me, as if it promised good nourishment and care.
I savored the earth when I sometimes sat on the porch steps and my feet touch the ground. The grass tickled my feet as if to greet me. An occasional butterfly sometimes landed on the tip of my finger. Looking at me with equal curiosity and amazement as I had as we both observed each other within our short rests and observations.
This is how I feel about the elements.
I thank each of them with peace and treat them with kindness, for the core of their power surrounds us. These things made life. It was the soft hands that slowly shaped the world within its own mind of creation. Others treated it with mass destruction. And without any of them, why would the world exist?
After I took a quick peek at the sunrise, I went back inside to make breakfast. I had eggs, bacon, ham, and cheese to make omelettes. I also had leftover bacon just to make bacon strips, along with fresh fruit to make it even more satisfying. It was pretty filling, but breakfast was the most important meal of the day, right? It needed to be filling.
I went back outside to take a look at the sunrise, with its breath taking beauty that I couldn't escape. It was such a lovely view from the forest. I always sat out here and watched as more and more people awakened from slumber and came to peer at the lovely sight. I had my own cabin in the forest, (since all the cabins were occupied by camp), and often was able to get beautiful views of nature, the sun, and the wildlife in the woods. It was pretty great.
I was known in camp as The Lone Quest Conqueror. I was the only one, but I also brought my friends, Kate and Trent with me, so I always wondered why I was the "Lone" Quest Conqueror when I didn't seem as alone as my title states.. A quest conqueror was someone who had the freedom to do quests whenever she pleased, (well, as long as the quests given from the master were conquered, first). I also was a Elemental Volunteer, meaning I helped out around camp at random times. I often volunteered with the animal shelter and nurseries. I also went to the blacksmith to submit designs for armor and weapons. I even cooked at restaurants and baked at the bakery. I was pretty active in camp, and well known, too, so it's not like I don't know everyone's shops and stuff.
Camp was almost like a town, a town specially for us. There was a bakery, blacksmith, a food court for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. There was an animal shelter for elemental species of animal, a nursery for younger babies and children who was sent here. There was a giant university in which I learned from, and a section of cabins for everyone to sleep in. The university, however, I kinda graduated on elemental skill, so technically I wasn't in it. There was also this huge cave where wild monsters spawned that we were able to go in and fight. There were guards in the cave, but they're hidden, so if you were defeated, they'd stop them.
There was a giant forest, surrounding it and protecting it with a special force field, known as the The Circle of Protection. This kept the humans from seeing us by camouflaging us. From a bird's eye view, it was forest. We had day and night guards who acted as wild animals to scare off the humans if they got too close. Not only that, but to protect us from monsters. We couldn't just let Shades penetrate through our barriers. Well, they know where we are, but it's better to keep it up in case if confusion becomes an alley.
As I finished my breakfast, I got my suit on, which contained my Power Crystal. My Power Crystal was the highest of its class. We used this special crystal to bring more power to elemental powers. We were special because crystal or not, we were able to do elemental powers out of our energy. But, if we used the power with our energy, we would use the energy we use to live.. and we would probably die. That's why we use the crystal, so we're able to live and use our elemental powers as defense, and have a source of energy.
After I got everything ready: my hair brushed and straightened, little make up on, teeth cleaned to perfection, shower taken; I went outside and I made a call for Dispatch, a special hawk I learned to train when I got here who hung out at the post office and gave me my mail to my call.
My hawk swooped down and gave me my mail in my right hand and quickly snatched the mail in my left and did a loop-de-loop in the air, announcing its goodbyes with numerous caws, and flew back to the post office.
I looked through the mail. "Mail, mail, mail, scroll of quests, mail... wait a minute.." I peered at an envelope with golden curly handwriting.
"Wait, the master sent me mail?"
I ripped the envelope open and looked at the letter, adrenaline rushing through my veins. What was about to happen? I had to find out.
Dearest Scarlet May,
The Council has issued you to arrive at today's Meeting of Importance at noon. You are allowed to choose two friends to accompany you during the meeting and your special quest that we'll issue to you. This quest was not issued upon your scroll, due to the fact that its privacy level is high, and that it must be discussed in a private matter. If you are unable to attend, please contact me immediately.
Sincerely,
The Grand Master
I couldn't believe my own eyes. I was being invited to one of the most private meetings in history and was allowed to bring two friends? I still was amazed at that fact of it. I had to tell this to Trent and Kate, and of course, invite them to come along with me.
